Language skills requirements Admission criteria Entrance examinations Selection of new students Application schedule Further information www.hamk.fi Bachelor’s degree programmes conducted in English in 2014 Social Sciences, Business and Administration • International Business Technology, Communcation and Transport • Automation Engineering • Construction Engineering • Mechanical Engineering and Production Technology www.hamk.fi You can apply if you have: • A non-Finnish qualification that gives eligibility for higher education studies in the country in question (e.g. upper secondary). • You can also apply if you graduate in spring 2014 from one of the EU/EEA-countries. • HAMK uses discretionary admission: please see www.hamk.fi/applicationfulltime for detailed instructions. www.hamk.fi Application period • Apply to universities of applied sciences all over Finland with just one application. • Choose at most four options that you wish to apply for in your order of preference. • Apply online at www.admissions.fi. The application period begins on 7 January and closes on 11 February 2014 at 4.15 pm Finnish time (+2 hrs GMT). www.hamk.fi What documents should you send? • If you apply with a non-Finnish qualification: – Provide a copy of the graduation certificate to the admissions office of your first-choice degree programme by 21 February 2014 (unless you are an EU/EEA-citizen and graduate in spring 2014). – Send also an official Finnish, Swedish or English translation of the certificate if the certificate is not written in one of these languages. The translation must have the translator’s signature and stamp. – If you are not a citizen of an EU/EEA -country you must also provide proof of your English language skills! • If you apply through discretionary admission, please see www.hamk.fi/applicationfulltime for further instructions. www.hamk.fi Language skills requirements • If you are an EU/EEA-citizen, your language skills will be evaluated in the language test included in the entrance examination. • If you are applying with a non-Finnish qualification and you are not a citizen of an EU/EEA-country, you must provide proof of your English language skills by 21 February 2014 4.15 pm Finnish time to the admissions office of your first preference UAS. • Please see www.hamk.fi/applicationfulltime for a list of accepted language skills certificates and information about discretionary admission. www.hamk.fi Admission criteria • If you apply with a non-Finnish qualification your admission is based on the entrance examination result. • The minimum score for a passed examination is 30/100. If your score is less than 30 you cannot be accepted to study. www.hamk.fi Entrance examinations • All eligible applicants will be invited to the entrance examinations. • HAMK UAS organises entrance examinations during April 2014 in Finland and in several other countries. • See www.hamk.fi/applicationfulltime for detailed information. www.hamk.fi Content of the entrance examinations Degree Programme in International Business • The entrance examination includes a mathematics and logical deduction skills test, a group discussion, an essay based on written materials and multiple-choice questions. There will be an integrated language test in the exam. Applicant must pass all parts of the exam. • Pre-reading material will be published at www.hamk.fi/applicationfulltime in the beginning of January. Technology, Communication and Transport • The entrance examination includes a mathematics and physics / chemistry test as well as a logical deduction skills test. All tests will be conducted in English.
