Police investigate weekend shooting Brighton police are investigating the shooting of a 31-year-old female during a disturbance at a party in Brighton at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday. Police reported Tuesday that the woman remained in a hospital where she is recovering from her wound. Officers were initially dispatched to the 7-Eleven store at 1012 E. Bridge St. at 2:39 a.m. on a report of a female with a gunshot wound who had collapsed in the store. Ninth Ave. The victim told police she fled the location on foot after being shot, and reportedly went to the Western Convenience store located at 1351 E. Bridge before going to the 7-Eleven.
