This year, Acushnet students will be taking the PARCC assessments in English Language Arts and
Mathematics instead of the MCAS. However, all districts will continue to administer the Science
and Technology/Engineering MCAS tests in grades 5 and 8.
Acushnet students will be taking the paper-pencil version of the PARCC, not the computer-based
version of the test.
The Massachusetts Board of Elementary and Secondary Education will vote on whether the state
will adopt PARCC in the fall of 2015.
