Weekly THEMES
June 9 - 13 – Launch into Adventure
Every great adventure starts with a great team. This is a week to get to know the
counselors and fellow campers through exciting team events that will challenge your
child right from the very start.
June 16 - 20 – Finding our Path
Being a great adventurer means having the skills and knowledge to navigate the
big, wild world. Campers will begin developing crucial wilderness skills such as
map reading and shelter building. Those skills will be put to the test as campers
venture out on hiking and geocaching expeditions.
June 23 - 27 – Sometimes It’s the Journey
It’s not always the destination that matters but rather the confidence earned and
lessons learned on the way there. Whether forest, river, or bluff, campers will
experience the excitement and challenge of traversing untamed lands.
June 30 - July 3 – Stronger Together
Campers will spend the week splashing and playing at the Bob Welch Aquatic
Center, Onalaska Aquatic Center, Holmen Aquatic Center, and other local pools.
July 7 - 11 - Balance Is Key
Sometimes nature is best enjoyed through a favorite leisure pastime or one yet
to be discovered. This week, campers will be challenged through various outdoor
sports, including archery, fishing, and Frisbee golf. Come find fun and friendship
out in the sun and breeze.
July 14 - 18 – Hone Your Skills
Get your hands dirty and your mind sharp. This week’s outdoor adventures will
drive ingenuity and encourage critical thinking as campers must keep their wits
about them while developing practical outdoor skills such as foraging and building
rustic shelters.
July 21 – 25 – Getting Lost…
Campers will become absorbed in the wonder and mystery of the natural world as
they learn about local lore and legends. The week culminates in an overnight camp
outing under the stars that will truly enrich the week’s experiences.
July 28 - August 1 – Flora and Fauna
Life is all around you. This week will give campers plenty of opportunities to learn
and interact with different types of creatures and plants as they explore local forests,
rivers, and ponds to discover the depths of different ecological systems.
August 4 - 8 - Water and the World
As the summer sun beats down, campers take a chance to sit back, relax, and
enjoy the wonder of water. Campers will partake in a variety of water-based
games and activities while discovering the importance of water ecology, quality,
and conservation.
August 11 - 15 - Last Minute Prep
Skills best performed are those done most often. This week, campers
will be given a chance to revisit and practice some of their favorite
outdoor skills and activities.
August 18 - 22 - Once More into the Wild
With summer winding down and time short at hand, campers
will channel all the knowledge, abilities, and teamwork
skills that they have gained throughout summer as they
compete to see which team can come out on top in the
Great Nature Race.

FINANCIAL Assistance
The Y recognizes that for communities to succeed, everyone must be given the opportunity to be
healthy, confident, connected, and secure. At the Y, no child, family, or adult is turned away. The
Financial Assistance Program uses the funds raised from the Y’s Annual Campaign to ensure that
all individuals who qualify have the chance to lead healthier, happier lives.
Feel free to contact us about using this program to help your family get involved with the YMCA
through memberships and programs.
