CPC was established in 1950 as a professional organization to improve the professional knowledge and business skills of the members through lectures and roundtable discussions. The club also promoted the general welfare of the community through activities to advance the mutual understanding and social enjoyment of the members with regular social gatherings. CPC Scholarship Fund, Inc. was set up in 1977 to provide funding for educational scholarships, which are awarded to deserving high school seniors of Chinese decent in the Houston Metropolitan area. Through generous donations from corporations, private companies and individuals, CPC has proudly awarded over 300 scholarships that have exceeded $400,000 since its inception. The scholarships have inspired our youth to achieve their highest scholastic abilities. We would like to invite you to become one of our sponsors and to join us in this very worthwhile endeavor. The 2014 CPC Asian Scramble golf tournament, which was the 25th annual, was held on October 4, 2014, at Oakhurst golf club, in Northeast Houston. It was a very successful event. There were 60 players. The weather was clear and sunny in the high 70's. Everyone had an enjoyable time. Golf caps with the CPC logo and door prizes for every player, and many good raffle prizes including golf certificates at many courses, a golf bag and putter. The net profit to the scholarship fund was about close to $2,000. ! The winning team was Bill Wong, John Tsai, Raymond Ng, and Linda Ng. Second place team was Jim Tang, Rick Del Rosario, James F. Tang, and Jeff Tang. Third place team was GS Wang, Jim Loh, Sue Wang, and Amy Kan. The long drive winner was Nicholas Mikus. Closest to the pin winners were Rick Del Rosario, Jack Wong, Peter Peng, and Betty Eng. ! Congratulations to all the winners! The final recipients of this year's scholarship will be decided by the board and they will be presented with their scholarships at the Annual Scholarship Ball to be held on March 1, 2015, at the Westin Oaks Galleria.
