JESUS, I AM RESTING, RESTING Jesus, I am resting, resting, in the joy of what Thou art; I am finding out the greatness, of Thy loving heart. Thou hast bid me gaze upon Thee, and Thy beauty fills my soul. For by Thy transforming power, Thou hast made me whole. Jesus, I am resting, resting, in the joy of what Thou art; I am finding out the greatness, of Thy loving heart. O, how great Thy loving kindness. Vaster, broader than the sea! O how marvelous Thy goodness, lavished all on me! Yes, I rest in Thee, Beloved, know what wealth of grace is Thine. Know Thy certainty of promise, And have made it mine. Simply trusting Thee, Lord Jesus, I behold Thee as Thou art. And Thy love, so pure, so changeless, satisfies my heart; Satisfies its deepest longings, meets, supplies its every need, Compasseth me ‘round with blessings, Thine is love indeed! PRAYER OF CONFESSION from Psalm 51 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin! Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it; You will not be pleased with a burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. 4 AMAZING GRACE (MY CHAINS ARE GONE) Amazing grace, How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost, but now I’m found Was blind, but now I see ‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear And grace my fears relieved How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed My chains are gone, I’ve been set free My God, my Savior has ransomed me And like a flood His mercy rains Unending love, Amazing grace The Lord has promised good to me His word my hope secures He will my shield and portion be As long as life endures (chorus) When we’ve been there ten thousand years Bright shining as the sun We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise Than when we first begun (chorus) The earth shall soon dissolve like snow The sun forbear to shine But God, Who called me here below Will be forever mine, Will be forever mine You are forever mine OFFERTORY Parents, if you’d like for your children (3K-Kindergarten) to participate in Children’s Church, please dismiss them after the offering is collected. She’s spent much of the last decade serving with Serge in Uganda and South Sudan as a teacher, counselor, and educator. She’s recently moved to Kenya to work as a counselor at Rift Valley Academy for the next two years. RVA educates students from all over the world, and she will be supporting teachers and students, still working as a counselor, still being a part of the hope of Jesus spreading in East Africa. Pray for her new job as team leader for the Serge team in Kijabe. Pray for God’s Spirit to equip her as a humble leader, and for creative wisdom to serve the diverse team as they work in medicine, education, and counseling. Pray for her financial support, as she needs to raise $3,500; pray for God to continue to provide. Pray for upcoming transitions for her students and her teammates.
