In New York City and other urban
environments where space is a scarce
resource, many schools have multipurpose
rooms marked with the outlines of the
playing fields for several sports. Here,
different games and lives intersect, and
children learn to play together, share, and
respect others. Most importantly, they find
that they are more powerful when they
collaborate toward a common goal and for
the common good.

Each of us has a part to play in making kids’
lives safer, in helping them to grow up happy
and productive. In the spirit of all places
where communities come together, we
invite you to join corporate, government,
philanthropic, and civil society leaders at
Solutions Summit: A Multipurpose Approach
to Improving Children’s Lives at the Civic Hall
in New York City on Thursday, February 12.
During this summit sponsored by
WithoutViolence and held in collaboration
with UNICEF, we will explore how we can
build cross-sector commitment to proven
solutions that improve the lives of kids— and
have some fun in the process.

We believe that you can have an
extraordinary impact on the lives of
children and contribute to shaping a better
tomorrow. This isn’t an event only for
experts on children’s issues or violence
prevention. Leaders in the field have told
us that if we want to make a real impact,
we need to collaborate.
Violence intersects with so many aspects
of children’s lives. If we don’t work
together to address it, our important
investments in education, health, positive
urban environments, and so much more
will lose their impact. Become a Superhero!
P.S. Everybody has a super power. Maybe you
have super vision to see through problems,
the power to turn ideas into reality, the
strength to send wealth thousands of miles…
Email nadja@withoutviolence.org with your
super power, come to the event, and we’ll
have a special superhero gift waiting for you.
