MESSAGE FROM MESSAGE FROM Hon. Robin Scott MP Minister for Multicultural Affairs Dr. Voltaire Nadurata Chair LCMS Committee of Management THE MINISTER I am delighted to send my best wishes for the success of the 2015 Bendigo Festival of Cultures. I congratulate the festival organisers for once again staging this week-long celebration to showcase the vibrancy, joy and diversity of regional Victoria. The Victorian Government recognises that cultural festivals, such as the Bendigo Festival of Cultures, are a vital part of our multicultural landscape. We are proud to support our many multicultural festivals, which enable the whole community to celebrate our cultural diversity. I encourage everyone to enjoy the exciting array of cuisine, song, dance and photography - and to embrace the inclusive spirit of this vibrant festival. On behalf of the Victorian Government, I wish everyone a happy celebration. 2 THE BOARD Since 2001, Loddon Campapse Multicultural Services has celebrated the Bendigo Festival of Cultures, highlighting multiculturalism in Bendigo and regional Victoria. This year is no different as we showcase the sights, sounds and flavours of our growing cultural diversity. Our country is enriched by both our indigenous and migrant roots, of which Bendigo has been central, since the early days of federation. We would like to acknowledge this festival is being held on Dja Dja Wurrung Country, of which the members, elders and their ancestors are the traditional owners and have been custodians for many centuries where they continue to perform age old ceremonies of celebration, initiation and renewal. We invite you all to share this festival experience in our beautiful City. welcome MESSAGE FROM LCMS Noemi Cummings Executive Officer LCMS and Festival Director Bendigo is a wonderful place to live, work and play and we feel that is worth celebrating. The Bendigo Festival of Cultures does just that, throwing open the history, traditions and hospitality of our many communities for your enjoyment. Once again, we have organised a spectacular week-long program to highlight our rich cultural and religious diversity. Thank you to all our supporters, from the Victorian Government and our Gold sponsors, to the friends of the festival. Your contributions are all vital. I would also like to thank our staff and volunteers for going the extra mile to make this festival a reality. Let’s use this festival to celebrate who we are in Bendigo. The festival has something for everyone, including workshops, concerts, forums, food, music, dance and lots of entertainment. This year’s festival motto is also an instruction: Let’s have fun together!
