AAROH TECH Fest ’15
TECHNO QUIZ [GROUP EVENT]
1. This is a 2 round event.
2. First Round is written and second is oral quiz round.
3. There will be a written preliminary round and maximum 8 students will be
selected on merit for the final round. After selecting 4 teams will be made by
withdrawing chits.
4. Total 30 minutes will be given to solve the 60 objective type of question.
5. Questions will be asked from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, and
Computers etc.
6. The final oral round will include various questions like GK, audio visual, rapid
fire etc. of technical subjects.
7. A particular question and the type of rounds shall be announced by the referee
before the Commencement of the competition.
TECHNICAL PRESENTATIONS
PAPER PRESENTATION/POSTER PRESENTATION (TECHNICAL)
THEME –India-2025: A Technological Prospective
SCOPE: Nuclear, Space, Software, Manufacturing, Electronics, Green Building
Materials etc.
1. Each participant has to submit a paper/poster on one topic.
1. Only 10 papers and posters will be short listed by the screening committee for
paper and posters presentations.
2. Selected Paper and Posters will be presented by the candidates using 10 slides
only.
3. Total 10 minutes will be given for presentations of oral paper presentation (8
min. for presentation and 2 min. for question round).
4. Final decisions will be made by the juries of the presentations.

6. Format of the abstract is – A4 size paper, Time New Roman Font of size 12,
1.5 spacing, maximum 250 words.
MODEL MAKING
THEME –Eco Friendly Green Building/Low Cost Building
SCOPE:
1. It is a group event of maximum 4 participants.
2. No materials will be provided by the University.
3. Participants will make their Model in the University Campus.
4. Specification and derails of the model should be displayed with the Model.
5. Common platform for judging.
GAMING
1. NEED FOR SPEED
Tournament Rules:
1. Game Version: Need For Speed Most Wanted
2. The game has to be played only on keyboard. Any other controllers are not
permitted.
3. Tournament Format: 4 Players play at a time. The first two players to
complete the race will advance to the next round (no. of players who advance
to the next round is subject to total number of registrations for the game).
4. Game Type: Circuit \ Sprint \ Speed Trap \Lap Knockout (to be decided
based on the stage of the tournament)
5. Winning a race:
a. Sprint/Circuit: Winner is the person who finishes the race first.
b. Speed Trap/Lap Knock Out: Winner is the person who finishes first
or covers the most distance is no one finishes the race.
6. At the end of each match, players must maintain the final screens and receive
confirmation from a referee. Wining rules are subject to modification by
organizing committee’s own discretion.
Car Settings:
1. All unlocked. Players will be given a limited amount of time to customize
their cars to their liking. Default will be BEST.
2. Personal save profile is NOT allowed.
Courses:
1. Predetermined by the organizing committee.
2. Each Course may be modified by the organizing committee. Players will be
informed before the tournament of any such modifications.

Counter-Strike 1.6 Rules





Round:
One 1 minute 45 second cycle on a map
Half:
6 rounds of play on a defending or offensive side
Half time:
The period between halves in which teams swap sides
Match:
First team to win 7 total rounds, or the single overtime round
Overtime:
The case of a 6-6 score at the end of regulation play, 3 overtime
rounds will be played. The start money for each team will be set at $10,000 per
player for overtime.

 Rounds:
12 rounds for regulation play
 Max Rounds Format: 6 rounds as Offense, and 6 rounds as Defence per team
until the victory condition is met
 Victory Condition:
The first team to win 6 rounds in regulation or the team
that wins the overtime period.
 Buy time:
6 seconds
 Start money:
$800 for regulation play, $10,000 for overtime periods
 Freeze time:
15 seconds
 C4 Timer:
35 seconds

*The map pool may be changed prior to the tournament. Players will be informed of
any such changes as soon as possible.
Side Selection:




By knife round / coin toss, at admin discretion
At half time, teams will switch sides
Half time will be a maximum of two minutes, at which point both teams must be
ready
In the event of overtime, teams will switch sides and play an additional 6 rounds
(3 on each side) with $10,000 start money; if the score is still tied, another
overtime period will be played to determine the winner
Setup and Configuration:


Non-standard game settings or third party applications that affect game play are
not permitted. Players found using either will be penalized at the
administrators´ discretion.
Crouch hopping will not be allowed.
Tournament Guidelines:



Any disconnection issues that cannot be resolved by the players in the match
must be brought to the attention of an admin immediately.
Any use of game exploits, cheats, or any other play deemed “unfair” by an admin
may result in disciplinary action up to and including disqualification from the
tournament
All players must save game replays and end-of-game score screen shots
Violations



Use of any unapproved textures or models - Only default CS 1.6 models will be
allowed
Punishment for any violation will be at the sole discretion of the administrators
Silent or unreachable bomb plants – The bomb must be audible and planted in
a position that is accessible without a boost
Rule Changes:
The Administrators reserve the right to modify the rules as needed. This includes
changes due to software updates or releases, event organizer decisions and all other
changes deemed necessary to run a successful tournament. Teams are responsible to
check the rules on a regular basis and prior to the event to ensure they are in complete
compliance. Teams must understand that rules listed are guidelines to ensure fair and
competitive play and are subject to interpretation by the administrators based on the
spirit of the game.
RUBIK’S CUBE






Individual event.
Cube will be provided by us.
5 sec. will be given to analyze the cube.
First Round will be of solving 3*3 cube solving between 2 participants.
Second Round will be of solving 3*3 and given patterns among the
selected participants from first round.
Final Round will be of solving 4*4.

ROBOTICS
Robotics (Line Follower)
Basic Rules:
1. Line Followers must be self-contained, and not externally operated by wire or by
remote radio control during the race.
2. Except for the battery pack, the handler shall not make any addition, removal,
replacement or change to the hardware of a Line Follower during a contest. It is
however permissible to make minor repairs.
3. A Line Follower shall not exceed 25 cm in overall length, 25 cm in overall width
and 20 cm in overall height.
4. A Team can consist of maximum 4 members.
Criteria:
1. There will be 3 levels.
2. Team, who completes first level without any deviation from the track, will be
promoted to next level.
3. In second level, top 3 teams who finish the track (top in terms of laptime) will be
promoted to final.
4. The team who finishes the final level in minimum time wins.
PHOTOGRAPHY
1. It is an individual event.
2. Each participant will pick randomly 5 chits placed in the bowl in front
of him/her.
3. Themes will be written on them like nature, beauty, etc.
4. Participants have to get us the photos based on those themes.
5. Photos will be judged on the basis of creativity and innovation.
6. Photos will not be judged on the basis of clarity
7. But at least 5 megapixel cameras should be used to click photos.
8. Photos should be genuine and should not be copied.
9. Photo should be natural not edited.
10. Disqualification if photos were found copied or edited.
MANAGEMENT BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION
Business Plan Competition
Sow a thought, reap an action; sow an action, reap a habit; sow a habit, reap a
character; sow a character, reap a destiny.
Entrepreneurship starts with an idea and ends with a destiny. You craft your destiny
with your actions, habits and character. You make your destiny, it doesn’t make you.

Event will be held as group activity including members 2- 4

Participants has to prepare a model as well as PPT of their business plan

The Participating teams should give the Power Point presentations as per the
following format:
 Font 14- 18, Times New Roman
 No. of slides 10- 15
 Business plan includes business concept, implementation, budget, BEP &
revenue, strategies, innovations, technology used and social &
environmental impact
 First slide should including, name of the team, name of the plan, total
member and name of the members
Judging Criterion
Following are the parameters to judge the plan:
 Innovation and practical approach (real implementation of the plan)
 Discipline and communication skills of team
 Presentation (Model, PPT and team members)
 Concept and strategies
 Coordination among the team

Following activities will be conducted to fulfill the above criterion
 5 Minutes of Fame (Introduction)

The event is going to held in two rounds:
 Round 1: Introduction of team members (Five Minutes of Fame),
Introduction of your plan and how innovative your product/ service is.
 Round 2: Query Session (Questions asked by the judges will be handled by
the team members)
CASE STUDIES
Analyst-The Case Study Event is all about judging your intellect, managerial skills and
ability to craft sustainable solutions to problems that organizations face today. If you
can strain you nerve and sinew, and come up with solutions that are practical and
implementable, Analyst has a place for you. Challenging live cases from some great
ventures await your sight, who knows... maybe you can make a difference! Analyst
comes with interesting cases, mind- boggling reasoning and some big people to judge
your acumen and innovation.
Event will consist of two rounds.
In the first round we will be providing a case to the participants and they have to solve
the case by using their analytical skills and have to submit the case solution.
On the basis of first round submission we will select some participants who have given
the best solution for the given case. This will be done by the panel of judges.
In second round all the shortlisted participants will have to give the presentation in
order to justify their solution.
This is the final round consist of presentation and question and answer round.
On the basis of this round final winner will be selected.
COLLAGE MAKING
1. Individual participation.
2. This competition will be conducted ‘On the Spot’.
3. Subject of the collage will be given by the panel of judges, on the spot.
4. The total duration for completing the painting shall not exceed Two hours and
thirty minutes.
5. The paper and magazines provided by the University only should be used.
6. However, the participants should bring their own pair of scissors, gum and other
required material.
SOAP CARVING
1. Individual participation
2. Duration – 1.5 hrs
3. The materials required for soap carving are soaps, carving materials like paring
knife, needle, blade and manicure sticks.
4. Electronic carving tools cannot be used. Readymade decorative stickers, pictures
cannot be used.
5. Only participants allowed in the venue any theme.
6. Soaps will be provided along with carving tools.
