DATE AMENDMENT: Please note that due to a pool booking
cancellation by HBF Arena, the Squad Photograph, Swim Offs
and Bowling has been amended to Wednesday 18th March (a
day earlier). Although unfortunate, this was the only
acceptable alternative date.
ACC Swimming Squad training commenced last week with an
excellent attendance. This week will see both the Junior and
Senior ‘Provisional’ ACC Swimming Squad selection following
the Inter-House Carnivals. Parents will be notified of their son or daughter’s ‘Provisional’ event allocation and selection via
e-mail. Although the House results and the ACC Squad listing will be published openly in next week’s edition, no times or
event allocations are communicated in the Sports News.
Further information can also be found online at the ACC Webpage: http://www.accsport.asn.au/carnivals/swimming
WEEKLY INTER-SCHOOL CAS SPORT TEAMS CONFIRMED
Last week the trials and selections were conducted for all Junior and Senior CAS Teams in readiness for fixtures which
commence this week. Student numbers attending and contending for teams were high and I am confident many of the CAS
Teams will be consistently competitive this Term. Parents of selected students have been e-mailed directly following their
son or daughter’s successful selection; however, the teams are also published below. Well done to all selected players and
good luck in Round 1.
FIXTURE AMENDMENT: Year 7&8 Boys & Girls Basketball
Due to circumstances beyond our control, St. Stephen’s (Duncraig) are unable to play the Year 7&8 Boys & Girls Basketball
fixtures as scheduled.
This means we are able to conduct a secondary try-out for these teams on Wednesday 18th February. All players who
attended last week are asked to attend once again so the Teams can be finalised for Week 4.
These two fixtures are now scheduled for Tuesday 24th February to be played at Peter Moyes ACS.
All trialling players can also attend the practices on Wednesday 25th February as we have a ‘bye’ scheduled.
If you have any queries about the Inter-School Sport programme, please do not hesitate to contact me at School on

PRE-SEASON SOCCER, NETBALL & AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL!!!
Last Thursday afternoon saw a fantastic attendance at the first of the pre-season training sessions for Soccer, Netball and
Australian Football. Over 130 students covered the Northern Oval and Netball Courts for pre-season preparations that aid our
CAS Team selections in Term 2.
All CAS Teams will no doubt be oversubscribed; however, we would like to see some more Year 7 Boys attend the Australian
Football next week if possible.
YEAR 7 CAS LIGHTNING CARNIVAL – NOMINATIONS DUE NEXT FRIDAY!!!
On Friday 27th March (Week 8, Term 1) all Year 7 Students will compete in the Coastal Associated Schools (CAS) Inter-School
Sports Carnival.
This is a day where all students will represent Peter Moyes Anglican Community School in their chosen sport (Basketball, Soccer,
Touch Rugby, Volleyball, or Cricket) and play competitive games against other CAS schools. The main focus of the day is
participation, fun, teamwork and enjoyment of sports activities and it enables all students to play sports against some of our local
rivals in a sport of their choice.
A letter will go home to all Year 7 parents next week with Year 7 students, and reply slips and sports nominations are due no later
than Friday 27th February (Week 4) to their Year 7 Class Tutor. Students who do not nominate or hand in reply slips late may not get
the opportunity for their first sports preference.
P&F LEVY HOURS OPPORTUNITY
Year 7 Lightning Carnival – Parental Team Assistants needed!!!
In order to successfully run the year 7 Lightning Carnival, parents are offered the opportunity to assist coaching a Year 7 Team on
the day. Without volunteer assistance, these events would not be able to run, and they are dependent on the support and help of
volunteers.
Team Assistants are required on Friday 27th March at the relevant venue; however, most parental volunteers meet at Peter Moyes
School in the morning and travel on the bus.
The sports on offer are which require Team Assistants are:
Basketball
Soccer
Touch Rugby
Volleyball
Cricket
Please contact Mr. B. Streeter at school on 9403 5500 or
bstreeter@petermoyes.wa.edu.au if you are able to assist in any these roles or if you
would like further information.
Team Assistants will complete a minimum of six volunteer hours which can be
counted towards the P&F levy charge. In addition, your help is greatly appreciated!
