Tallink Hotels CUP will be conducted for invited clubs only in accordance with the ISU
Constitution and General Regulations, the ISU Special Regulations for Figure Skating as
well as all pertinent ISU Communications for Figure Skating and the regulations and
classification of the Estonian Skating Union.
The ISU judging system shall be applied.

 The Organizers have the right to split categories if the number of participants requires
that.
 If the competitor fails to finish the program within the time limit, deductions shall be made in
accordance with the ISU and the Estonian Skating Union regulations.

REGISTRATION OF ENTRIES
Entries must be submitted in a written form (see Annex 1). Please write your contact information
(name, e-mail, phone) on the entry form.
Preliminary entry forms must be submitted by February 19, 2015 at the latest.
Entries that are sent/received after the mentioned deadline will not be accepted.
The Organizer shall have a right to limit the number of skaters from invited clubs due to restricted
time schedule and shall apply the “first come, first serve” principle. The organizing Skating School
reserves the right to enter more competitors.

ENTRY FEE AND PAYMENT
60 EUR for the skaters with free program only
80 EUR for the skaters with short and free program
90 EUR for ice dance.
Entry fees must be paid upon preliminary registration (i.e. right after you have
received a confirmation on participation from the Event Coordinator) to the following

 We kindly ask the clubs to make one payment for all its participants.
 Please ensure that we receive the net amount of the required payment sum.
 All registration-related procedures (registration, annulment, changes) must be submitted to
the Event Coordinator in written form.
 In case a skater has been entered in the competition, but cannot participate, she/he can be
replaced by another skater in the same category and class. Entry fees are not refunded.
 Participating teams should inform of any changes in their team as soon as possible, but not
later than March 10, 2015.
AWARDS






Three first standings of each category/class shall be awarded with cup and a special price from
Tallink Group AS.
All competitors shall receive a diploma.
All competitors get one free visit to Tallink Aqua Spa by presenting their diploma within 6 months.
Voucher for photos for each competitor.
A gift from Tallink Group AS to every participant
The opening ceremony will be held on March 19th at 19.00 in the Tallink Spa Hotel
(Sadama 11a, Tallinn), where all the first day's competitors will be awarded.
All other awarding ceremonies will be held at the ice rink approx. 1 hour after the end of their
respective segments.

EXPENSES AND ENTRY OF JUDGES
The Organizer does not pay any expenses of the teams. Travel expenses, board and
accommodation will be borne by the participants.
Expenses related to the competition’s technical management will be covered on account of the entry
fees and sponsorship by the Organizer.
The foreign club who enters 10 or more skaters is kindly asked to bring a Judge (of National category
at least) to the Competition. It is also allowed to bring a Judge if the number of skaters is less than 10.
Coaches are not allowed to act as Judges.
In case a judge is sent by a competitor/club, the latter is responsible for the judge’s transportation
expenses.
Accommodation compensation in the amount of up to EUR 35 per night is available upon the
presentation of a hotel receipt (addressed to MTÜ Haabersti Uisukool, 3 Haabersti St., Tallinn).
Judges will be granted with daily allowance.

PLANNED PROGRAM CONTENT
The planned elements (Annex 2) of all competitiors must be sent by e-mail to Mrs. Veronica
Veetõusme: tallinkhotelscup@uisukool.edu.ee by March 10, 2015 at the latest. The Sheet must be
completed in English using the terminology listed in ISU Communication 1861/1884 or any update.

MUSIC
Music will be reproduced from CD (audio track, formatted for music reproduction system – not
computer). Music (equipped with the full name of the competitor, nation, club and category) must be
submitted to the announcer’s desk before the relevant event and picked up from the same place after
the event.

COMPETITION SCHEDULE AND PROTCOL
Mandate time:
March 17, 2015 from 16:00 to 17:00 at Škoda Ice Rink
The following documents must be submitted at the Mandate:
1. the final entry form (names of skaters, their relevant categories & classes, birth dates,
confirmed with the team leader’s signature and contact data);
2. copy of a payment order, which certifies the payment of entry fees.
Final entries received after 17:00 at the Mandate are not accepted and the relevant competitors are
not allowed to participate in the competition.

The Organizers shall not provide print-outs or CD-s.

PROTESTS
Each team has the right to submit protests against the judges’ decision. Protests must be submitted
to the Referee of the relevant event at the latest immediately after the event. Upon the submission of
the protest a protest fee of 50 EUR must be paid. The referee’s decision is final. In the ISU judging
systems no protests can be filed against the judges (rule 123), but against the right determination of
the executed element. In case of human errors (e.g. insertion of a wrong element), revealed after the
awarding ceremony, the Referee has the right to change the result.

LIABILITY
In accordance with ISU Rule 119, the Organizer accepts no liability for injury or for property loss or
damage incurred by Competitors or Officials. Each club is expected to take care of its own insurance
protection.

ACCOMMODATION
Tallink Spa & Conference Hotel and Tallink Express Hotel. Special accommodation offers available
for skaters.
Tallink offers a taxi ride from the hotel to the ice rink for 10 EUR. Payment in cash or debit/credit
card after the ride. Please use the booking code Tallink Hotels Cup.

Artistic Free Skating
Duration: maximum 1:40 min, but may be less.
VOCAL MUSIC MAY BE USED.
The artistic event will be judged only on the basis of Presentation Components (program
components):
• Skating skills
• Transitions
• Performance/Execution
• Choreography/Composition
• Interpretation/Timing
There will be no technical panel and no technical mark given. (See ISU Special Regulations and
Technical Rules 2008, Singles & Pair Skating, Rule 522, paragraph 2 for a detailed description of
Program Components.) The respective Rules can be found on the ISU website.
The artistic program consists of a variety of skating moves selected for their value in enhancing the
skater’s interpretation of the music rather than for their technical difficulty. Skaters will be judged
on their ability to interpret the music and develop a theme by using their skating skills.
The artistic free skate is a competitive program which must include elements of the sport of figure
skating.
At least one (1) but a maximum of two (2) single jumps
At least one (1) but a maximum of two (2) spins must be included.
Axels, double jumps and combination jumps will not be permitted
Credit for jumps and spins is based solely on the ability of such movements to enhance the chosen
theme and support the music. Credit will not be given for their technical difficulty.
The program must be developed through skating skill and quality rather than through non-skating
actions such as sliding on one knee or excessive use of toe steps which should be used only to
reflect the character of the program and to underline the rhythm and nuances of the chosen
music. The skater must not remain in one place for more than five (5) seconds.
Any element exceeding the maximum number as set forth above will be judged as an illegal
element ( 2.0 deduction); if there is no jump or no spin element included or only a jump and no
spin or vice versa a deduction for a “missing element” of 2.0 will be made. The Referee is
responsible for such deductions.
Costumes should be tasteful and selected to enhance the performance by appropriately reflecting
the character of the music and theme.
Props may not be used in any part of the artistic programs. Any item that is held in the hand or
removed during the performance is considered a prop. Thus, for example, a hat worn throughout
the program is not considered to be a prop, but if it is intentionally removed during the
performance it is considered a prop. Objects on the ice, thrown in the audience, placed on the
boards or on the judges table are not permitted. Costumes that contain particles that may mar or
leave anything on the ice surface (feathers, boas, excessive beading) are considered unsafe and
are not permitted.
The Referee is responsible for prop deductions.
Illegal elements:
- Somersault type jumps
- lying on the ice and prolonged and/or stationary kneeling on both knees on the ice
