Becton Regional High School will begin the administration of the NEW Partnership for Academic Readiness College and Careers (PARCC) assessments. Students in all levels of English 9, 10, & 11, as well as Algebra I, Geometry, & Algebra II will be taking the PARCC assessment appropriate with the courses they are enrolled in. We have worked carefully to ensure optimal testing conditions. The following PARCC Schedule will be in effect for Henry P. Becton Regional High School students. The first round of PARCC assessments, the PARCC Performance Based Assessment (PBA), will begin on Monday, March 2nd and continue through until Thursday, March 12th. You will receive a separate reminder regarding the End of Year (EOY) PARCC assessment which begin on April 27th. We will have a delayed opening (start time 10:05 a.m.) for all students not testing from March 2nd through March 12th. Students will only be responsible for coming to school at 8:00 a.m. on the date of their scheduled PARCC assessment (See Schedule Below). All students not testing must report to school by 10:05 a.m. Students will be informed of their specific exam locations and times. Lunch will still be served during the entire nine day administration of PARCC testing. Please note that we have scheduled a PARCC Infrastructure Trial / Teacher In-Service for the afternoon of Monday, February 23rd. ALL STUDENTS will have a half-day session on Monday February 23rd and will be dismissed at 12:25 p.m. Also, Friday, March 13th will be a regular full day session for all students. Should a student be absent for a specific part of their PARCC assessment, they will be re-scheduled to make-up the test during the PARCC make-up sessions beginning on March 13th. Courtesy Bus Service In order to accommodate the PARCC testing schedule, we will be providing courtesy bus service at two different morning times between March 2nd and March 12th. *Morning Bus Service #1: Courtesy bus service will be provided for all students testing at 8:00 am. from March 2nd through March 12th. The courtesy bus routes and schedule will be the same as any other Regular Session School Day Schedule. *Morning Bus Service #2: Courtesy bus service will also be provided for all students not testing during March 2nd through March 12th. The second courtesy bus routes and schedule will remain the same as any other Delayed Opening School Day Schedule. Please be reminded that Monday, February 23rd is a half session school day for all students. Also, all students are to report to school on Friday, March 13th.
