Entry will be open to USBC female members of the Victoria USBC. Only Victoria USBC certified league averages will be
acceptable. Unmarried students under the age of 18 must file a parental consent form.
The tournament dates will be March 7, 8, 21, 28, & 30, 2015. The Tournament Director will decide shifts. Team Event and
Singles and Doubles will be bowled at Century Lanes.
Averages: USBC Rule 310a(2) does not apply.
A.
Entrants must use their highest certified Victoria USBC 2013-2014 book average of 21 games or more regardless
of whether bowled as a regular member or as a substitute.
B.
If no book average, bowlers may use their highest Victoria USBC 2014 summer average of 21 games or more.
C.
If no book or summer average, bowlers shall use their highest current Victoria USBC average of 21 games or more
as of January 1, 2015.
D.
If, as of January 1, 2015, an entrant does not have at least 21 games, she may enter if she uses her
highest current Victoria USBC league average of at least 15 games as of entry closing date.
Entries will close midnight Friday, February 27, 2015. Entries will not be accepted after this date, except those postmarked
the first post office business day after the entry closing date. Entries will be scheduled in the order they are received. You
will bowl at the times requested unless your team captain is notified.
Lanes will be assigned randomly by the USBC Winlabs Tournament software and posted with the schedule. After the
schedules have been posted, there will be no changes made except in the case of proven emergency.
The Tournament Director, with the approval of the Officers, shall have full power in drafting the schedule. Shifts will be
added or deleted as necessary. A committee shall be appointed by the President to draft the proposed prize list.
The tournament will be handicapped - 90% of the difference between a bowler’s average and 210, and there will be one
division that includes all bowlers.

An entrant may participate in Team event as many as two (2) times; but not more than three (3) players on any one team
can place more than once in the prize list for position standings.
An entrant may participate in Singles and Doubles as many as two (2) times; however, in no case shall the same twowoman team be permitted to place more than once in the prize list for doubles event position standings. In no case shall
the same individual be permitted to place more than once in the prize list for singles event position standings.
A bowler who enters Doubles must enter Singles and vice versa. Doubles are bowled immediately following Singles.
Singles and Doubles will be bowled on the same pair of lanes. If an entrant’s partner has not arrived by the time of her
Doubles event, and a substitute is not available; she will be permitted to bowl her games in the Doubles event in order to
qualify for All Events.
Doubles Entrants consisting of two (2) Senior Citizens (55 years minimum) may elect to bowl their Doubles and Singles on
separate days if they so choose.
Substitutes are permitted when replacement is warranted and shall be made at the discretion of the Tournament Director.
In case of disability, in Team and doubles events, a substitute shall be allowed, if one is available, after the game has
started. In the Singles event, no substitutes may be made after the series has started. If no substitute is available only the
actual score of the frames bowled shall count.
Paid all events are not transferable unless the substitute replaces the original entrant in all three events. The transfer is
made by the Tournament Director prior to the time of the substitute’s participation in any event.
A substitute will not be required to reimburse the original entrant with the entry fee paid nor shall the substitute be expected
to give the original entrant any prize money or trophy she may win.
When a bowler competes more than once, her first score in each event shall count towards her all events.
The line-up shall be the same as shown on the entry blank. A substitute shall take the place of the original entrant as
shown on the entry form.

Any entrant who arrives after an event has started will be allowed to bowl, provided a substitute has not started in her place.
No score will be given for the frames missed. Once a substitute has started, the original entrant will forfeit her entry fee and
the right to bowl in the scheduled event.
A tournament game or frame(s) within a game that is irretrievably lost in the scoring process may be re-bowled with
approval of tournament management. The decision of tournament management shall be final, except where an appeal is
made to USBC for final consideration.
Bowlers must check in thirty (30) minutes prior to the scheduled time to bowl.
Any protest affecting eligibility or playing rules must be confirmed in writing to the Tournament Director before the prize
payments are made. The Board of Directors of the Victoria USBC shall have power to hear and act on all protests
concerning the tournament. Errors in scoring must be reported to the Tournament Director within twenty-four (24) hours.
Obvious errors in calculation must be corrected by a responsible tournament official immediately upon discovery of such
error.
In case of a tie for first place in any event, duplicate trophies will be awarded. First and second place prize money will be
divided.
All prize money will be returned 100% on the basis of a least one (1) place for every five (5) entries in Team Event and at
least one (1) place for every seven (7) entries in Doubles, Singles, and All Events. All prize money will be divided according
to entries per division per event. The winner in each event shall be declared the champion in her division and shall hold the
title until the next City Tournament. A trophy will be awarded to the winner in each event and to the sponsor of the winning
team in each division. If the classification of a Team or Doubles is changed by substitution, the Tournament Director will
make the changes. The prize list will be changed as necessary (Rule 309a).
The City Champion shall be the woman with highest All Events SCRATCH score. To win the City Champion title you must
be a Victoria USBC league member.
No food, drink, or non-bowlers will be allowed in the pit area past the carpeted/step-down area during tournament play. The
only exceptions would be scorekeepers and tournament officials. If a bowler is found to be intoxicated, she shall be subject
to immediate removal from the lanes by the officer in charge. No substitute shall be permitted in such case and the
remaining team or individual shall be permitted to finish their games to go towards their all events.
PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR SUITABLE ATTIRE WHEN PARTICIPATING IN THE VUSBC WOMEN’S
CITY TOURNAMENT: SKIRTS, SHORTS (LENGTH must be no more than 3-3.5 inches above knee.) HALTER/TANK
TOPS/SPAGHETTI STRAPS ARE NOT ALLOWED. SLACKS ARE PREFERRED. WARM-UP PANTS AND SWEAT
PANTS ARE NOT ALLOWED. PLEASE SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH YOUR TEAM MEMBERS (THIS IS YOUR
RESPONSIBILITY AS A TEAM CAPTAIN). FAILURE TO COMPLY IS SUBJECT TO DISQUALIFICATION.
The automatic scoring system will be the official score. It is up to the bowler to insure that the automatic scoring system
records their score correctly. ALL score corrections will be done by a tournament official. Printouts will be compared to
games written on the recaps
If the lanes breakdown and are not fixed in thirty (30) minutes, teams or individuals will be rescheduled and completed
frames will count. If lanes are not available at the time of breakdown, the bowlers will be moved at the discretion of the
Officer in Charge.
All rules not covered here shall be governed by USBC rules.
