There is no time like spring <click heels together>
…an important date to mark on the calendar as it is the
first day of SPRING, the International Day of Happiness and
a Friday!
March 13th
…another important date to mark on the calendar
With spring in the air, we will celebrate with Firemen
Flapjacks and a Bingo Bash on Friday, March 13th from 68:30pm. Everyone has been studying and preparing for
SOLs, reading lots of books for the Read-a-thon and
spending lots of time indoors with the cold temperatures
and snow outside. This is the perfect opportunity for us to
come together as a school community, visit with friends
who have been indoors all winter and win some prizes and
raffle items.
May 10th
…another important date to mark on the calendar as it is
Mother’s Day
Yes, you need to start to think about the perfect Mother’s
Day gift. Luckily, Ms. Wimer, CSES Art Teacher, has
worked all year to help every student make a distinct
piece of art using his/her own hand. The CSES PTA along
with Ms. Wimer and Original Works Art Program have come
together to give you the opportunity to purchase items
designed from your child's art work. Items will be
returned before Mother's Day so your child's art can make
wonderfully unique gifts. Gift…check!
Happy March and Happy Spring!
Looking forward to having dinner with you!

From the Principal’s Desk. . .
We are looking forward to the
upcoming CSES PTA Firemen, Flapjacks, &
Bingo Bash on Friday, March 13 from 6:008:30 pm. I hope you have marked your
calendar and made plans to join in the fun! It
promises to be a fun-filled night for the
entire family!
Thank you for such great
participation in our PTA Read-a-thon! You
helped raise over $10,000 for our school! We
will begin soon looking at special projects and
needs in our school to put funds raised to
excellent use for YOUR children. Thank you
EVERYONE who participated!
I know the end of the school year may
seem like a long way away, but. . . it’ll be
here before we know it. Spring always brings
lots of great things at CSES. Our students
have worked, and continue to work, diligently
to learn as much as they can. The month of
May brings SOL testing in grades 3-5. The
SOL testing window is May 4-29. Right now is
the time to check your calendars and
reschedule any appointments or conflicts in
your child’s schedule. I know our students
will once again perform their best on these
tests, as they have worked hard all year to
prepare for the SOL tests. More information
will follow at a later date.
As always, don’t hesitate to call or
email me with questions or concerns –
jspoff@rcs.k12.va.us or 772-7558. Thank
you, parents, for all you do as partners in
your child’s elementary years! 

The Spring Slide Show
Needs your Pics!
The annual Ice Cream Social and Slide Show at year end is
only as good as the pictures you submit throughout year.
Please send your best CSES digital pictures to:
jen.zehringer@cox.net or on disk through backpack Mail.
Remember, if sending cell phone pics, use the large file
setting when taking and sending. The small versions
pixelate and just don't translate to the big screen. We want
to be able to feature as many kids and events as possible!
Also, I will be including video clips this year. If anyone
happens to have a few of those, please send them!
