SOCIO-CULTURAL & ECONOMIC ENGAGEMENT
10th April to 12th April | National University of Singapore
What is Model ASEM Singapore 2015?
Model ASEM Singapore 2015 will be held from 10 – 12 April 2015 at the National University of Singapore
(NUS) where 150 youth participants will role-play as leaders representing the 53 ASEM Member countries.
The initiative aims to enhance the understanding of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) process amongst
youth leaders in Asia and Europe. The three-day simulation incorporates elements of the actual ASEM
Summit as well as adds complementary features into the programme that further enhance the diplomatic,
consensus-building, negotiation and persuasion skills of our youth leaders.
Benefits of Participation

 Offer youth leaders the opportunity to engage in intense discussions on ASEM priorities in an

 Provide a channel for young people from ASEM countries to share their views on Asia-Europe
relations and to cooperate on a common vision towards an ideal ASEM.
 Allow youth leaders to learn skills and build capacity in the fields of research, public speaking,
teamwork, communication, problem-solving and consensus-building.
 Facilitate networking among youth leaders from ASEM countries.
