Lavey Parish
15th March 2015
4th Sunday of Lent
The seed is sown in the ground when
its hour comes, in time it bears fruit.
Christ through his obedience dies, but
through his dying he brings
eternal life to all who call on his name.

Coffee Morning in aid of 'Friends of Africa
Two of our young parishioners, Conor McGurk and Niall Toner have
volunteered to work for 6 weeks this summer with the charity ‘Friends of
Africa’. The boys were introduced to this charity by the SMA Fathers at
Dromantine, Newry ,where many Lavey boys and girls have attended the
summer camps over the last 30 to 40 years. Conor will be in Zambia and
Niall in Tanzania, where they will be helping in a range of projects;
teaching, caring for street children and working on building projects. They
are holding a coffee morning in Lavey /Termoneeny centre on Saturday
28th March from 10am to 1pm. The boys pay their own fare so all
donations are used for the charity’s work in Africa. Your support would be
much
appreciated.
A Church gate collection for the annual Irish pilgrimage to Lourdes
will take place next weekend 21st & 22nd March.
Lavey GAA Gear
O Neills Sportswear will be at the club on Thursday Night 19th March at 8pm until
9pm to take orders for Lavey GAA Gear for the 2015 Season. Anyone who requires
gear should make arrangements to be at club at this time as it will be the only
opportunity to order gear for the incoming season. There will also be a final
opportunity for those who have not registered their children to play for Lavey to
do so on Thursday evening as well.
Registration
The final deadline for registration is 23/03/15. All members should register at
reception ASAP or on 19th March as above. Please note that any adult or child
who has not formally registered with the club (and in turn Croke Park) will be
unable to play for Lavey for the incoming season.
Congratulations
To Conal & Fintan and St Mary's Clady on their Ulster title.
Volunteers Required
Volunteers are the life and soul of every GAA Club and our club is no different!
As a new season is upon us, we would ask that more people from the parish get
involved in the upkeep and running of our centre and grounds. Anyone interested
in helping out in any way- be in with maintaining the grounds, carrying out a
spring clean of the Centre, assisting on match days or willing to work a few hours
per week at reception- we would like to hear from you! Anyone interested in
getting involved, please speak to either a member of club committee or leave your
details at reception.
