Our two hour seminar will get you hands-on time with an instructor and horse. Learn to groom, saddle and ride with confidence with our well versed and safe school horse. Ages 6/7 (must be accompanied by an adult) and 8+ ($40), Seniors 60+ ($30). Program occurs once a month from Apr—Aug, 4-6pm. Learn a healthy sport that develops physical fitness and builds confidence. We have over 30 horses trained for our students. Riders from beginner to jump student will be split into different groups according to ability. Grooming, tacking, feeding, and medical care will be taught for each level. The camp experience is rounded out with a horse show and potluck lunch on Friday for family and friends. Kids Beginner Lessons Tiny Tot Camp Improve balance, coordination and tone as you learn the fundamentals of English riding. In addition to being excellent form of exercise, horseback riding is a great way to help build confidence. Students will learn to walk and trot in this class. Ages 7-16yrs. $198. Many people with joint problems, arthritis, and low muscle tone improve their overall health by therapeutic riding. Grooming and caring for your horse is a pleasure everyone enjoys. Extended mounting blocks are used to make it easy to get on and off your horse. A certified therapeutic riding instructor will teach the class and make sure everyone is moving in the right direction. When riding horses you use your leg and core muscles to maintain balance and direct your horse. Students will learn the basic footwork skills including: the advance, the retreat, and the lunge. Basic blade work skills including: direct attack, beat attack, parry-4, and parry-6. They will learn fencing strip rules and hand judging skills. By the end of the class students will participate in fenced bouts with several opponents. Equipment provided.
