Wow, the weather has really played havoc with our schedules this year! Hopefully, we can look forward to an end to the “snow” days, and a beginning to warm days ahead! Our PARCC testing continues through March 13th for our PBA (Performance Based Assessments) and again on April 22nd through May 6th for our EOY (End of Year) Assessments. This new assessment has been quite an undertaking, and I am very proud of our staff and students as we have worked through the process. Please refer to the revised testing schedule below.* Due to our testing schedule, we have had to revise our dates for our Spring Parent/Grandparent luncheons. We look forward to seeing many of you. INTRADISTRICT OPEN ENROLLMENT TRANSFER REQUEST DEADLINE
The PLSD Intradistrict Open Enrollment Transfer Request form has been updated
and the deadline for submission has been changed. The new version is available
on the District website and MUST be completed and returned to Jessica Seymour at
the PLSD Welcome Center located at Ridgeview JH, 130 Hill Rd., S., Suite 102 – fax
614-833-2114 by MARCH 31, 2015, in accordance with Policy JECBD-E-1. Please
do NOT return this form to the school office.
SPRING FUNDRAISER!
We are currently in the middle of our Spring Fundraising
Campaign. We hope our kids have been out selling the
many items offered. We have cookie dough, pizza,
desserts as well as many gift items. Our campaign ends on March 6th and items will be delivered
to Harmon on March 26th from 3-6 pm. We are raising money for new book titles for the library as
well as for Harmon’s Student Recognition Program. We really appreciate your support.

It’s time for our spring parent/grandparent
luncheons! Each we have two fall and two spring
luncheons. Half of our homerooms participate in
the fall and the remaining homerooms are invited to
this special luncheon in the spring. Due to our
testing schedule, we have had to reschedule our
spring dates. Check the schedule for your child’s
homeroom and be looking for invitations to come
home soon.

HARMON SPELLING BEE WINNERS!

Our new Renaissance Team has been very busy with many, many projects! We are so proud of our all of our fifth and sixth grade
student leaders who are members of this group, and look forward to continuing this group next year as they become the new
leaders of our school. Here are just some of the activities and events that our kids have been working on:
•
Designing and creating our student birthday bulletin board located in the cafeteria and helping with the staff birthday
bulletin board
•
Organizing and keeping track of our recess supplies and games
•
Being student hosts for luncheons and special programs
•
Being great assistants to Mrs. Yoakum on several projects
•
Separating and distributing our thank you notes from our “Thank You Thursday”
•
Preparing for our Academic Pep Assembly at the end of the year
Thank You Thursdays are always a giant hit with all of the staff and students. After morning announcements, blank note cards
are passed out to all students and staff. They were then directed to write a note to someone (student or staff member) to thank
them for any act of kindness they were given. Our Renaissance students stay after school to separate and distribute the notes to
all who received a card. The following morning, students and staff members who received thank you notes are pleasantly
surprised to receive their card(s). We look forward to our next Thank You Thursday coming soon!!

The Ohio Department of Health requires that all students entering 7th grade to show
documentation of receiving an immunization called Tdap before being allowed to enter
school next year. Your 6th grade child recently received a letter explaining this requirement with
their grade card. It also contained a Physician Documentation of Vaccine form for your
convenience. This form is also available on our building’s main webpage, as well as under
“Downloads/Medical Form.
