Differences are examined from Metocean perspective in different oil regions. Interaction of platform structures with slender elements are highlighted, including risers, umblicals, and mooring lines. Semi-submersible structure is used to elaborate the design process. Finally, different design code approaches are shown that same structure can be designed to different standards. Dr. Lu's Biography: Roger Lu is a technical advisor with Aker Solutions, currently leading the Deep Draft Semi-submersible development in the Company’s Floater Group.
