Communication assessment
The WHO defines palliative care as “an approach that improves the
quality of life of patients and their families facing problems
associated with life – threatening illness, through the prevention and
relief of suffering, the early identification and impeccable assessment
and treatment of pain and other problems, physical, psychosocial
and spiritual”.

The goal of palliative care is achievement of the best quality of life
for patients and their families. Palliative care is not limited to end of
life care; many aspects of palliative care are also applicable earlier in
the course of the patient’s illness in conjunction with other
treatments.
Closing date for registration 23 January 2015.
