Application Available: March 10
Application Deadline: April 30
Central Park offers a paid internship to high school students interested in working in various areas such
as horticulture and administrative support. Interns work five days a week for 36-38 hours per week and
take field trips to other parks or work on group projects on Fridays as part of the experience. This fulltime, paid internship offers high school students the opportunity to support the Conservancy’s horticulture,
visitor services, and public programs departments. Interns work five days a week with individual
schedules varying depending on the position (some include weekends). Every Friday all interns work
together as a group to complete special projects in Central Park, or to go on trips to other parks and
environmental organizations.
Acceptance into the internship program is through a competitive application process. While all high
schools students 16 years and up are eligible to apply, preference is given to students who have
participated in one of the ROOTS programs or the Visitor Experience Apprentice Program. Applicants

CHILDREN”S MUSEUM OF MANHATTAN HIGH SCHOOL JUNIOR STAFF INTERNSHIP
PROGRAMS
http://cmom.org/learn_with_cmom/internships
Application deadline: June 1, 2015
Children's Museum of Manhattan has a Junior Staff Summer Internship program for high school students.
For ten weeks beginning in July, interns help with guided tours and educational activities for the young
museum attendees. High school students from all over New York City work together alongside museum
staff to explore community, technology and education at CMOM. Through experiences that focus on
youth development and building 21st century skills, Junior Staff Interns grow into valued members of the
CMOM team and the New York City community.
High school students who have interests in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math), the arts or
working with children will find a welcoming community to explore and grow. Each intern develops their
interests into real work experience and skills that prepare them for college and careers. Students start off
as volunteers and as they gain more experience, they earn an ascending stipend.
Summer Junior Staff Internship July to August
Summer Junior Staff Interns assist educators with guided tours for visiting camp groups and take part in
professional development workshops, visit other museums, and attend college workshops.
For more information, contact the internship coordinator at 212-721-1223 x241 or by e-mail
