Many methods such as postharvest management, transportation, handling, storage, cooling, cleaning, heat treatment and packing can be used to reduce fruit and vegetables waste. Nanotechnology is one of the most important research fields in modern material science, and is include the production and manipulation of material at the nanoscale (۱۰ -۹). The potential use and benefits of nanotechnology in agriculture are enormous that can noted to insect and pests management, water desalination, enhancement of fertilizers efficiency, slow release of nutrients and water and decrease agricultural crops waste. This study was aimed to evaluate the application of nanotechnology to decrease waste in agricultural crops, particularly fruit and vegetables. Some issues such as application of Nano composition and their potential in fruit and packaging based on nano-materials, warehouses or vegetable packaging industry, intelligent cold storage with nanotechnology, nano-biotechnology and edible coatings based on nanomaterials will be investigated.
