Guideline Development Sub-Group Member – Applications Invited The current UK Ambulance Services Clinical Practice Guidelines were released in 2013 and since their publication the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives (AACE) has developed a new strategy to update the guidelines to reflect changes in practice. This new process has been designed to take account of the rapidly evolving practices in pre-hospital care and will involve the recruitment of guideline development sub-groups who will work with the Chair of each group to develop a specific guideline. A detailed process has been developed with both the Joint Royal Colleges Ambulance Liaison Committee and the National Ambulance Service Medical Directors group for the guideline development sub-groups to work to, with each guideline being released upon its completion. As part of this strategy AACE is now seeking to recruit interested parties to become members of the guideline development sub-group for– decision making for patient referral. This new guideline will provide advice on when it may be appropriate to refer a patient to a healthcare professional or an alternative service. Individual applicants will need to demonstrate a high level of subject knowledge and be a doctor, paramedic or nurse working or studying in the subject area. Applications are also welcome from members of other professional groups who have specific interest or knowledge in the subject area. Previous study at degree level would be helpful but is not essential. Further details of this position can be found in the person and role specification. Application is by way of a covering letter along with an up-to-date curriculum vitae. Your application should be emailed to JRCALC@aace.org.uk and the closing date for applications is 29/05/15. Please note that interviews will not be required for this post and successful candidates will be notified by email. Dr D Surendra Kumar JRCALC Chair
