ALDERBURY AND WEST GRIMSTEAD CE VA SCHOOL www.alderbury.wilts.sch.uk Friday 22nd May 2015 Newsletter 31 Dear Parents, Carers, Staff, Governors and children, We have had a great term 5 with lots packed in. This week has particularly intriguing as we have embarked on a global learning week with each class studying various aspects of fair trade, farming and market share. What I was really pleased with was the more ‘local’ global issues that were covered too – such as being a good friend, neighbour or helper. Messages of gratitude for what we have and how we live were also paramount. My thanks must go to Mrs Johannesen for organising a super launch to the week with Kwame from African Activities and to Joyce Hughes for presenting to Elephants and Lemurs about fair-trade products. Year 3 and 4 also had a visit from ‘Light in Africa’ to support their class work. I hope you all have a happy and healthy half term break!
