Start Sharing what makes East Aldine “Home” Lone Star College-Dream Act Forum On April 22, Lone Star College-North Harris hosted its first Civic Engagement Forum for students, discussing the future of the Texas DREAM Act. The continuation of the DREAM Act, which provides access to in-state tuition for eligible, undocumented students, is currently being debated in the Texas Legislature. Eighty-five students and employees, and four Board Trustees participated in the forum. The forum was organized as part of the college’s ongoing effort to engage students and community members in a productive dialogue about important issues. It served as an excellent reminder of the value of having a community that is informed and involved in the legislative process. Future forums, on a variety of topics, are expected to be organized at LSC-North Harris in the future NEIGHBORHOOD CENTERS INC. To start sharing pictures and stories we have created an East Aldine Voices Pinterest Page https://www.pinterest.com/eastaldinevoice/ We look forward to start seeing the sights and stories of what makes East Aldine Great.
