Hometown Healthcare has been serving the pharmacy needs of their patients since 1953 but has responded to the changing healthcare climate by adding a full line of home medical equipment, including home oxygen, CPAP supplies, and ambulatory equipment. Hometown Healthcare is on a five year mission to transform itself from a traditional DME & Pharmacy to an organization that is known for delivering new levels of population health through medication adherence and therapy based respiratory compliance. They need the right financial professional “on the bus” to drive the organization’s success to the next level. Casey has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics from SUNY Potsdam and began his career in healthcare in 2001 with Maxim Healthcare Services, a national medical staffing and homecare company. While there, Casey worked in the Boston (MA), as well as the Albany, Rochester and Syracuse (NY) offices until 2004. Casey served in various capacities including startup and management of the branch office. In April of 2004, Casey left Maxim Healthcare to begin a start-up venture in the durable medical equipment (DME) industry as part of the family pharmacy business. That decision launched a collective effort resulting in the fast growing and dynamic homecare company known today as Hometown Healthcare Inc. Casey is passionate about leadership and working to achieve optimal organizational health through developing the company culture. Casey lives in Wynantskill with his wife Tara and their two children Logan and Stella. THE BOARD Hometown Healthcare is a closely held entity governed by Jim and Ed Toomajian, and operated by Casey Toomajian. THE POSITION The Chief Financial Officer reports to the CEO, and works regularly with the Leadership Team heads; Director of Customer Loyalty, Pharmacy Team Lead, and Clinical Respiratory Team Lead. The CFO will directly supervise the Reimbursement Team Lead (AR), the Bookkeeper (AP) and work closely with the Logistics Team Lead and Executive Coordinator under the direction of the Governing Board. 3|Page HTHC CFO Opportunity Profile Purpose The CFO will produce timely, accurate and compliant financial planning and reporting. The CFO will establish and lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing budget management activities in conjunction with the strategic plan for the calendar year. The CFO will create and lead a high performance team that will support the merger and ongoing success of all company financial and related administrative activities. The CFO will be a full business partner with the CEO in creating and sustaining a healthy organization that stays on mission while generating adequate return on investment for the shareholders. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Financial Reporting, Projections, and Budgeting Prepare GAAP financial reports and metrics monthly. Prepare Gross Margin Projection Calculator. Complete Financial Dashboard. Oversees Budgeting Process and ongoing Budgeting management activities. Direct Financial Administration Manage Cash on hand. Monitor financial analytics as required by CEO. Compliance Manage active contracts with external partners (including all vendors, insurance companies). Internal Audits are developed, administered. Prepare External Audits, (includes financial, 3rd party payer, and accrediting bodies). Other Administration Manage all company inventory and non-inventory purchasing. Manage payroll. Manage accounts receivable Manage accounts payable. People Management/Development Meet with and supervise Direct reports regularly. Complete Performance Management Reviews. 4|Page HTHC CFO Opportunity Profile ATTRIBUTES Knowledge/Certifications Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, software accounting, comfortable with and open to new technology. Experience with Brightree a plus. Has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration, with an MBA Operations and Finance preferred. Has five or more years’ experience in accounting, finance and/or operations. Has a proficient knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and tax issues . CPA preferred but not required. A demonstrated understanding of business operations, including health care costs is required. Skills Detail-oriented and organized. Exhibits great time management. Next, references and backgrounds will be checked, degrees verified, and an extensive Candidate Profile will be prepared. The Search Committee will select the top four or so who will then be interviewed in person and the candidates will be recommended forward to the Board for further consideration. Finally, one candidate will move forward. When a preferred candidate is determined, the candidate and spouse will have an opportunity to meet the HTHC main office team and to know who he or she will be leading. The leadership team will have an opportunity to consult with the governing Board before hiring is finalized.
