Our guest speakers for this meeting are Dr. Mike Smith (OSU), who will discuss pecan nutrition and orchard renovation; Dr. William McGlynn (OSU), who will discuss the new FDA regulations for pecans; and Basil Savage, Sr., who will discuss what pecan buyers are looking for when purchasing from pecan growers. Other topics to be addressed at this meeting include our latest results on stink bug research and other insect monitoring. The classroom instruction will be followed by a grafting and pruning demonstration at Clark’s Pecan Grove on the Arkansas River near Mayflower, AR.
