Newport on the Levee Jazz, Arts and Wine Fest Friday May 15th & Saturday May 16th, 2015 Hosted by Newport on the Levee and Art on the Levee Gallery Calling All Artists & Craftsmen and Wineries: Join us for Newport on the Levee’s Jazz, Arts, and Wine Fest! For a third year, we will celebrate not only visual art, but music and locally crafted wines. We are looking forward to this newly improved event and hope you will participate! We would like to encourage all vendors, whether you are a Painter, Photographer, Candle Maker, Jewelry Artist, Potter, Wood-Worker, Textile crafter, especially food crafter, and Wineries, to take advantage of this opportunity to showcase and sell your work. Newport on the Levee Jazz, Arts, and Wine Fest is both an indoor and outdoor show. Main level of the Gallery Building is at our artists’ disposal, as well as the area between the Newport Aquarium and the Gallery Building for displaying outside. During the weekend of Friday May 15th, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday May 16th, from noon to 8 p.m., you will have the opportunity to showcase and sell your handcrafted items alongside other artists, local wineries, and food vendors from around Newport on the Levee. Artist, Food vendors, Wine vendors, Guidelines & Requirements All vendors must produce handmade items in the United States. Merchandise comprised from a majority of imported parts will not be accepted. No resale items permitted; only original pieces created by the vendor. Handmade pieces of any type are acceptable, including (but not limited to) the following categories: Paintings, Wood Carvings, Photography, Candles, Pottery, especially food, Jewelry and Textiles. We recommend that average items price should be lower than $ 35 Food Vendors: A health permit is required for food vendors. The application form and guidelines will be included in the welcome package. An inspection by the health department may be required one hour before the event on Friday May 15th. Wine Vendors, Insurance requirement: For the wineries participating in our Jazz, Arts and Wine Fest, we need to get from you a Certificate of Liquor Liability Insurance. Registration & Show Qualifications In order to be considered for the show, vendors must submit images of five pieces. We also need pictures of the way you are planning to lay out your display for our review. All images are to be submitted with the registration form, which is to be e-mailed to artonthelevee@gmail.com or mailed to Art on the Levee, 1 Levee Way, Newport, KY, 41071. Additional information required regarding each piece submitted for review: medium, dimensions, price and concept of each piece. Please submit images of booth setup or display layout to artonthelevee@gmail.com for review. Deadline date to submit application and images to be considered for the show is April 15, 2015. Once a vendor has been approved, he/she will complete the registration and pay for the space. Cost of registration is: $50 (total) per vendor, for a 10 ft x 10 ft space, for Friday and Saturday. $70 per vendor for a 10 ft x 10 ft space, for Saturday only. $40 (total) per vendor, for a 12 ft x 6 ft space, for Friday and Saturday. Only available inside the Gallery building. $50 per vendor for a 12 ft x 6 ft space, for Saturday only. Only available inside the Gallery building Please note that Friday is not available as a one day option. Registration fees are non-refundable. Register before March 15th to receive an early bird discount of $10 off the registration fee. Event Setup & Procedures Space selection is determined by the Jazz, Arts, and Wine Fest Coordinators. Please indicate on your registration form if you will need a table and/or electricity. Spaces with electrical outlets are limited. There is no extra charge for a table, but artists must cover their table top and legs with a fabric cloth and skirt. No plastic table covers are permitted. All vendors must be present for the entire duration of the event (Friday and Saturday, or Saturday only). Early closing is not allowed. All booths/tables must remain open during the entire duration of the event. Vendors must arrive early for the appropriate setup time each day. All vendors are responsible for any setup and/or decorating materials. An eight-foot table is available to those artists requesting a table on their registration form. Total space available per vendor is 12 ft x 6 ft or 10 ft x 10 ft. Please indicate your space request on your registration form. There is space available outside or inside the gallery building. Please indicate which is preferred on the registration form. For outside spaces, vendors should bring their own tent. We recommend bringing a tent with side closure capabilities and each artist is responsible to prepare for all weather conditions. Shelves and displays must be lower than 6 ft. in height, if your space is inside the Gallery Building. Tables/rental spaces must be presented in a professional manner and kept well organized. Vendors must apply for an occupational license with the City of Newport. The fee is $15 for a one or two day show. Complete instructions of how to apply for this license will be provided with the welcome package. Vendors interested in performing demonstrations should indicate this on the registration form. A secure space to store your pieces will be provided on Friday for those who participate on both Friday and Saturday. Tables, chairs, displays and tents can stay from Friday to Saturday. Vendors are responsible for all sales and sales taxes on any items sold. Neither Newport on the Levee or Art on the Levee are responsible for any items damaged, lost or stolen during the course of the event. Additional Questions?
