ELIGIBILITY:
This competition is open to amateur/
hobbyist photographers only. (Amateur – a
person who engages in a particular activity on
an unpaid basis; a non-professional). Persons
who violate this rule will be immediately
disqualified from this competition and
indefinitely disqualified from all future
EOG Resources Trinidad Limited’s
Birds of Trinidad and Tobago Amateur
Photography Competitions.
There is no age restriction for entering this
competition.
Employees of Mango Media Caribbean,
competition judges and their immediate
family members of both are prohibited from
entering this competition.
IMAGE REGULATIONS:
Electronic Submissions:
Photographs should be shot and submitted in
JPEG format, 300dpi at 8”x10”. Images outside
these specifications will not be accepted.
Print Submissions:
Photographs submitted must be 8” x 10”
minimum.
JUDGING:
Entries will be judged in August 2015 on the
following criteria:
1) Technical quality
2) Shot composition
3) Visual impact
4) Creative vision
5) Rarity of image
6) Appropriateness of image
THE DECISION OF THE
JUDGES IS FINAL
RULES:
Photographs must be of birds native to
Trinidad and Tobago. Entries featuring nonnative birds will NOT be judged.
Images of birds in captivity – i.e. in cages or
at the zoo – will NOT be accepted.
Where birds are perched on human hands
for the purpose of taking the photograph,
the image submitted must not show the
hand.
Entrants may submit a maximum of five (5)
different photographs.
Participants must possess the exclusive
rights to each submitted work and are
responsible for obtaining any necessary
permissions relating to the subject captured.
Winning entries become the property of
EOG Resources Trinidad Limited.
Through submission of print or electronic
images, entrants (and their legal guardians
where applicable) grant non-exclusive
reproduction and publication rights to
the works submitted to EOG Resources
Trinidad Limited and its affiliates.
Images will not be returned.
Winners will be required to enter into a
written agreement with EOG Resources
Trinidad Limited.
Photographs submitted to previous EOG
Resources Trinidad Limited’s Amateur
Photography Competitions are not eligible
for entry.
Photographs submitted with any form
of branding or trademarking will not be
eligible for entry.
Photographs taken digitally must be
submitted in electronic format only.
SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES:
All submissions must include:
1) The full name of the participant
2) A valid email address
3) Two valid telephone numbers inclusive
of a cell phone number
4) The location of the shot
5) A 30 (minimum) to 50 (maximum)
word description of the participant and
his/her interest in photography.
Electronic images may be submitted on a CD,
DVD, flash drive or via email to:
birdsoftrinidadandtobago@gmail.com
Submitted entries and storage media will not be
returned.
Deadline for submission of
entries is June 26th, 2015
