Asilomar 2015 Application REV4

RSCDS - San Francisco ranch
is pleased to present
The annual Asilomar Weekend Workshop
November 13 — November 15, 2015
Dancers from far and wide are invited to join the dance, in celebration of RSCDS San Francisco Branch’s 50th
Anniversary! Weekend activities include an informal Welcome Dance on Friday evening, Friday night Ceilidh, Saturday
classes with live music, optional Ball review, teacher’s choice class, the Kim McGarrity Memorial Ball on Saturday evening,
and a combined Sunday morning class. Non-dancers are encouraged to attend and enjoy the Asilomar experience.
Dancers must have at least one year’s dance experience and be at least 16 years old. Application by dancers under 16
can be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please contact Asilomar Committee Chair, Patti Cobb for details.
Asilomar is located in Pacific Grove on the Monterey Peninsula. This spectacular state park, with its historic buildings,
107 acres of woodlands, sand dunes, and ocean beach is an ideal setting for the weekend. Amenities include all meals,
comfortable en suite living accommodations, and rooms with wooden floors for classes. Due to the historic nature of
Asilomar, we have very little control over the size of the beds in the rooms thus we can not guarantee a bed large enough
to accommodate two people, so couples may be placed in rooms with two beds.
Teachers for the Weekend
Jimmie Hill—Edinburgh, Scotland
Elaine Brunken — Kansas City
Ruth Jappy—Delta, British Columbia, Canada
Alan Twhigg—Mountain View, CA
Jeff Corrigan—Placerville, CA

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
Thanks to the generosity of all our donors, we have been able to maintain the number of classes, and the caliber of
world-class teachers and musicians that make Asilomar the unique dance weekend it is, despite the increased pricing
from Asilomar Conference Grounds. We are striving to keep the cost down for you, and to encourage greater
attendance. Our actual cost to put on the weekend is approximately $45 higher per person. If you are in a position to
comfortably afford our actual cost, please consider making a tax-deductible donation of the difference, or more.
