THE SECOND ANNUAL CONFERENCE ON ATTRACTIONS MANAGEMENT IN SOUTHERN AFRICA
SPONSORED ATTENDANCE
Rationale
Attractions Africa 2015 has made available funding to support the attendance of participants from emerging
attractions. Development is an imperative in South Africa and Attractions Africa 2015 would like to be at the
forefront of providing development opportunities in the Attractions sector. In order to facilitate the
participation of delegates from Attractions that may otherwise be unable to send delegates to the conference,
Attractions Africa 2015 will offer financial support to delegates from emerging Attractions.
Who can apply for sponsored attendance?
Managers and decision makers from small and emerging Attractions. Guidelines for inclusion in this category
include annual turnover of less than R5 million, and fewer than 15 permanent employees.
How does one apply?
By completing an application form and providing a strong motivation (750 words).
What does the sponsorship include?
A 50% discount on conference registration fees.

On what will the Sponsored Attendance Panel base its decisions?
Applicants will be evaluated on individual merit if minimum requirements have been met: completion of an
application form, a strong written motivation and if the Attraction in question meets guidelines.
What is expected of sponsored attendees?
• Participate in pre-conference marketing where applicable.
• Attend substantially all sessions of the conference and participate and contribute where applicable.
• Contribute to the pre-conference survey and the post-conference benchmarking project.
• Consent to be photographed or filmed for conference publicity purposes.
Terms and Conditions
Sponsorships are limited and will be awarded at the sole discretion of Attractions Africa 20125
The sponsorship application form must be completed to be considered for a sponsorship.
The Sponsored Attendance Panel’s decision is final and no further correspondence will be entertained.
Sponsored attendance is not transferable and cannot be converted into cash.
How will this offer be rolled out?
The criteria and application form will be published on the Attractions Africa 2015 website and announced in a
newsletter and on Twitter. Managers of emerging Attractions will be invited to submit applications for
consideration. A panel will review the applications and choose up to 10 recipients.
