HISTORY QatarAcademyAlKhoropenedinSeptemberof2008toprovidequalityinternationaleducation opportunitiestotheQatarichildrenofAlKhorandthesurroundingarea.Theschoolispartof the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, a vision of Her HighnessSheikhaMozabintNasser.Theschoolhasexperiencedrapidgrowthsinceitopened with147studentstoits’currentenrollmentof625students.Theschoolbeganwithclassesfrom KGtogradefourandeachyearanadditionalgradehasbeenadded.Theeleventhgradewillbe addedforthe2015‐2016academicyearandthengradetwelvethefollowingyear.Theexpected capacityofQAKis1,500. LOCATION AlKhorisacoastalcitylocatedabout50KilometersnorthofthecapitalcityDoha.Inaddition to the Qatari families, Al Khor is also home to many employees of the oil industry due to it proximitytoQatar’snorthernoilandnaturalgasfieldsandtotheRasLaffanIndustrialcity.Al KhorisconsideredoneofthelargestQataricities.AlKhorisproudofhostingthebiggestoiland gasextractingfactoriesintheworld. DohaisthecapitalofQatar–asovereignArabstate–locatedinWesternAsiaandoccupyingthe smallQatarPeninsulaonthenortheasterlycoastoftheArabianPeninsula.Itssolelandborder iswithSaudiArabiatothesouth,withtherestofitsterritorysurroundedbytheArabianGulf. In collaboration with the School Director, the Primary School Assistant Principal’s role is to manage the Primary School Division. The Assistant Principal is accountable for the effective development, delivery, and evaluation of the Primary School educational programs. In exercising this responsibility, the Primary School Assistant Principal will have input into decisionsregardingtheprogram,budget,andstaff.Themanagementoftheschool’sprograms requiresthePrimarySchoolAssistantPrincipaltoanalyzetheneedsofthestudentstoultimately transformtheeducationalstructuresintoastrong,collaborativeteachingcommunitytosupport thestrategicvision,mission,andobjectivesoftheAcademy.
