Donations from the Volunteer Auxiliary and Hospital Foundation
Fund New Equipment for Antelope Valley Hospital
(LANCASTER, Calif. – June 11, 2015) — Two fundraising groups that support Antelope
Valley Hospital (AVH) have made significant donations that will be used to purchase
new equipment.
AVH Foundation donates nearly $1 million
The Antelope Valley Hospital Foundation has given the hospital a gift of nearly $1
million, which it raised through its two special events and contributions from supporters
throughout the Antelope Valley. These funds will be used to purchase new LED lights
for nine surgery suites, orthopedic surgery tables, neuro-surgery tables, beach chair
tables for shoulder surgeries, cysto-tables for urology surgeries, and gastrointestinal
scopes.
“The equipment we are able to purchase with funds raised by the hospital’s foundation
allows our surgeons to have access to the latest technology,” said AVH Chief Operating
Officer Jack Burke. “We are grateful for all of their efforts and for the generosity of the
many donors who support our hospital.”
The foundation just held its annual golf tournament, which raised $116,441 in financial
and in-kind donations. Its annual gala will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19, at the
prestigious Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. Proceeds will benefit Antelope Valley
Hospital’s pediatric program.

Volunteer Auxiliary donates $100,000
The AVH Auxiliary presented the Antelope Valley Healthcare District Board of Directors
with a check for $100,000 to purchase two ultrasound machines. One of these highly
advanced machines will be used in the OB clinic and the other is for the Women and
Infants Pavilion. These funds were raised through a variety of activities including the
hospital’s gift shop and the “New to You” thrift shop in Lancaster. The proceeds from
both retail outlets are used for identified needs within the hospital.
“The contributions of time and talent from our tireless volunteers make this happen,”
said Harriet Lee, auxiliary president. “We are honored to be able to support the hospital,
and specifically the Women and Infants Pavilion and OB clinic.”
