Apart from the bulk of routine work, the Provincial Administrator’s Office, under the leadership of Victor M. Reyes, has been coordinating with all departments, offices, as well as with other Local Government Units regarding the implementation of the HEARTS priority programs. The Provincial Administrator’s Office has also established protocols on systems procedures as well as internal and external document processing to ensure smooth operations. Protection and conservation of the natural environment has always been one of the Governor’s strongest advocacies, and one which the Provincial Administrator shares. That is why Governor Vilma Santos Recto has entrusted majority of environmental programs and projects to Provincial Administrator. Under his leadership, monitoring of activities around and within Taal Lake was intensified to arrest illegal activities. Consultations among stakeholders and thorough evaluation of the findings with the Task Force about the condition of Taal Lake were also regularly held, to prevent further endangering the lake and its resources. Mining activities in the Province were also given due attention because of the several catastrophic incidents in the country of late, brought about by natural calamities. Task Force Likas Yaman, led by the Provincial Administrator Victor M. Reyes, became more vigilant and enforced measures to regulate small scale mining and stop illegal quarrying. Towards the latter part of the year, a monitoring team was organized primarily to conduct assessment on the reported large scale mining explorations in some parts of the Province. Also under the Provincial Administrator’s leadership, the green revolution was launched at the female detention center, thus the female inmates can now grow their own greens. The rehabilitation of a minor cell has also commenced to make way for an Infirmary Room. Monthly medical and dental checkups were also conducted by a medical team from Provincial Health Office. Due assistance was also given to inmates regarding their pending cases, with the help of Judge Maria Marjorie Uyengco-Nolasco of RTC and a team of Public Attorney’s Office or PAO lawyers. The overall performance of the office of the Provincial Administrator hinges on the inter – active participation of the entire personnel. Everyone shared each contribution to meet our goal in the public service. Coordination was exemplified to patch what was lacking to meet both ends in addressing the task at hand. It is not yet perfect, but with right motivation and dedication generated from everybody the office would perform to the best it could. Provincial Administrator/ Chairman Victor M.
