Request for Bid Baxter State Park Storehouse Garage Expansion Job is for the construction of an addition to the existing garage located on the West end of the Baxter State Park Storehouse located at 55 Tamarack Street in Millinocket, Maine. Addition is single story, measures 22 feet by 30 feet and will sit on a slab and frost walls. The slab and frost walls will be installed separately and is not part of this bid. Walls The walls will be 2x4 construction 8 feet 6 inches high (top of frost wall to top plate), sheathed with 5/8 chip board, house wrap and vinyl siding. Walls to be attached to the top of the frost walls using the anchor bolts embedded in the concrete. Roof Roof is to be manufactured scissor trusses spaced 16” on center and covered by 5/8 chip board. Building is to have adequate clearance for the installation of a 9 foot high garage door and opener. Trusses are to be installed per the manufacturer’s specifications. Shingles on the existing garage (approximately 1100 square feet) to be removed and replaced at the time the addition roofing is installed. Roofing to be IKO Cambridge dual brown color architectural shingles applied per the manufacturer’s specifications. Overhangs on the addition will match what is on the existing building (approximately 12 inches). Doors West wall is to have a 36 inch wide steel insulated entry door and a 9 foot wide x 9 foot high steel insulated garage door equipped with a ¾ HP DC opener similar to the Destiny 1200. Garage door will have one panel with windows. Entry door if only primed to be painted grey. Siding and Trim Vinyl siding to be installed matching the original on the existing garage as closely as possible. All trim to be covered with aluminum coil stock. The contractor will be responsible for all material purchases and the disposal of all construction debris and roofing material. Contractor must meet all the safety and training requirements required by OSHA and carry liability insurance. Baxter Park prefers to start this job in July 2015 once installation of the slab is complete.
