AGM and FREE LUNCH
Thom will use children’s stories, poems
and nursery rhymes in exciting ways
with hands on materials to address music
concepts. The activities will be connected
to the Orff Volumes and to movement
and folk dance. Thom will show us how
to integrate children’s literature into our
music curriculum. (This will be a continuation of the ideas that
Thom presented at
BCMEA using new
material).
Thom Borden has a B.S. in
Music Education and an M.A.
in Education. He completed
Orff Levels at UNLV and an Orff Master Level at
the University of Memphis under Jos Wytac. He
studied music and movement in Europe. Further
studies include Kodàly training from Colorado State
University and completing his certification at Silver
Lake College with Sr. Lorna Zemke. Thom currently teaches PreK-5 in Las Vegas. He has published
Orff arrangements in the McGraw-Hill series, Spotlight on Music™ and has published several
