Commodore's Report It is not feeling very Spring-like as I write this but the daffodils are blooming and warmer weather cannot be far away. It may seem early but production of the Summer edition of Wavelength has a long lead time so please do be thinking of any stories, exploits or challenges that might be of interest or amusement to other Members, ideally with plenty of photographs. Bella Janson would love to hear of them. This Easter weekend sees the BODs back in the water, although tiresomely not in their customary position thanks to delays outside our control in the dredging of the area in front of the Club. Meanwhile, our petrol pump is back in operation for those with RIBs or other boats in the water. Daniel will be running a Dinghy Instructor course next week, with a Pre-Assessment course this Friday, bringing on the next generation drawn from those graduating from the Cadet weeks. Jonathan Peel is also kindly offering some on-the-water refresher training for Race Officers on Saturday (racing at 12 noon) so let him know direct if you wish to take advantage of this opportunity. As previously advised, this week sees the Maundy Thursday Ladies' lunch, the Fish and Chip (with alternatives!) supper on Good Friday and, on Easter Sunday, the Easter Egg Hunt at 12 noon, Caroline Samuelson's presentation from around 12.30 pm and lunch as usual. There may still be places for the three meals if you are very quick and, of course, all are welcome for the others. The Club will also be open on Easter Monday and for the rest of the week for Bar lunches. I am pleased to say that there were only a few further amendments notified to us about the 2015 Year Book since my last request and a full list of these is attached. Please do make a note of these in your copy. Happy Easter! Boat Parking and Dinghy Insurance As previously mentioned, the dinghy parking and insurance details have rolled over from last year. Can you please check the three documents covering tariffs, parking list and insurance which are on the Club website HERE to ensure that we have Members correct details. If there are any changes please email boatmen@bembridgesailingclub.org by the 20th April as Members' accounts will be charged in April for Parking and in May for insurance cover. The Dinghy park is nearing capacity and we have a couple of unclaimed Laser 1 hulls which 01/04/2015 19:27 2 of 10 http://bemsc.boxstuff.net/mailing/3b6f83ad2fdbe512e73a961c444885... have been in the Club for a couple of years. If these are your boats please email: boatmen@bembridgesailing.org by the 1st May 2015 or we will need to dispose of them. 1. White hull with thin red line, sail number 34627 2.
