As a major component of the revamped boat show format the Boating Industry Association of Victoria (BIAV) have introduced a range of new draw-cards. Such activities and draw-cards are being implemented in an effort to achieve the following: - Introduce MBS to a new audience - Enhance family friendly appeal of the MBS event - Create greater foot traffic flow around the show through 6 key ‘touch point’ locations - Entertain and Inform the public with greater education activities on stage through new interactive events - Introduce new Career Information and Interactivity The promotion of the MBS will focus heavily on the chance for attendees to WIN from a major prize pool incorporating the following: 1 x Boat, Engine, Trailer, Electronics Package with a retail value of $50,000 - 1 x PWC or Similar Package with a retail value of +/-$15,000 - 1 x Fishing, Skiing, Wakeboarding, Travel or Other Package with a retail value of +/-$5,000 The total expected prize pool for the major promotional activity is planned to total $70,000. This is seen a major draw card for the public to attend the show over and above the promotion of the show, exhibitors and the purchasing opportunities on offer. The Boating Industry Association of Victoria, as the promoter of the 2015 Melbourne Boat Show now request tenders from Industry for the supply of the above listed goods and services subject to the terms outlined in this document. Boating Industry Association of Victoria Limited Request for Tender for Goods and Services Version No. 15.4 – April 2015 Page: !4 of !6 PART 2: Specification and Required Information Item 1: 1 x Boat, Engine, Trailer, Electronics Package (RRP$50,000) Important Note: As part of the Careers Promotion at MBS this prize boat shall be fitted out (promoted as built) on the show floor near the main stage. Such elements to be fitted to the hull shall include ‘Engine Fit-Up, Stainless Steel, Canopy, Electronics, Steering, Seating, Rod Holders, Anchor/Winch and other associated electrical and related fixings’. There is to be NO welding, fibreglassing or painting on the show floor at any time. Specification Requested: - Approx. 5m Boat (Aluminium, Fibreglass or Inflatable) - Towable by a Standard Family Car - To be ‘fitted out’ on the show floor by Apprentices (under required supervision) - Will form part of the Advertising Call to Action for the 2015 MBS across all mediums - Footage and Photos will be utilised on all BIAV related websites and social media. Item 2: 1 x PWC or Similar Boating Package (RRP+/-$15,000) There is no fixed requirement for Item 2 apart from the request such tendered product is a water craft of some kind with a retail value of around $15,000. Such item or items may include PWC and Trailer, Self Powered Boat (kayaks/canoes), Inflatables, Sailing Boats or others. - Will form part of the Advertising Call to Action for the 2015 MBS across all mediums - Footage and Photos will be utilised on all BIAV related websites and social media. Boating Industry Association of Victoria Limited Request for Tender for Goods and Services Version No. 15.4 – April 2015 Page: !5 of !6 PART 2: Specification and Required Information Item 3: 1 x Fishing, Skiing, Wakeboarding, Travel or Other (RRP$5000) There is no fixed requirement for Item 3 apart from the request such tendered products or services are related to boating and the boating lifestyle of some kind with a retail value of around $5,000. Such item or items may include fishing equipment, electronics, water skiing or wakeboard accessories, travel and accommodation packages or others. - Will form part of the Advertising Call to Action for the 2015 MBS across all mediums - Footage and Photos will be utilised on all BIAV related websites and social media. Boating Industry Association of Victoria Limited Request for Tender for Goods and Services Version No. 15.4 – April 2015 Page: !6 of !6 PART 3: Conditions of Contract Term: This tender is for the 2015 Melbourne Boat Show only and valid for the pre and post promotional period commencing 9:00am Monday 20th April 2015 and concluding 5:00pm Friday 19th June 2015. Conditions: The Boating Industry Association of Victoria Limited shall select and issue the winning tender(s) for each individual component of the prize pool based on each tenders merits, associated costs and suitability to the requirements. The selection shall be final and no further correspondence shall be entered into. Any and all prizes/products/services must be made available to the BIAV on location at the MBS/MECC no later than 3:00pm, Thursday 11th June 2015.
