Baby It’s Cold Outside Legwarmers Materials: A-1 skein Cascade 220 or 220 yards of worsted weight yarn B-I skein Trendsetter Dune or Prism Kid Slique12 or 16 inch size 8 circular needles Cable Rib Pattern: Rows 1-3: K4, P1 around. Row 4: CB4, P1 around. Row 5:K4, P1around. CB4: Place next two stitches on cable needle and hold in back of work, knit the next two stitches, knit the two stitches on the cable needle. Instructions: Cast on 50 stitches with yarn A. K4, P1 across row. Join in circle being careful not to twist and place marker at the beginning of the round. Work in Cable Rib Pattern for 18 rounds. Work 2 more rounds in K4, P4 rib with A. Attach yarn B. Work 5 rows in K4, P1 ribbing. Continue to work in ribbed pattern as established changing colors as follows: 6 rounds in yarn A 3 rounds in yarn B 6 rounds in yarn A5 rounds in yarn B 6 rounds in yarn A 3 rounds in yarn B 6 rounds in yarn A 5 rounds in yarn B 6 rounds in yarn A 3 rounds in yarn B Change to yarn A and work in Cable Rib Pattern for 18 rows. Bind off loosely in pattern. Pattern Notes: • If using a 16" circular needle, the stitches will be tight on the cable rows. Instead of using a circular needle, you may use double pointed needles. • K4, P1 ribbing may be used in place of the Cable Ribbed Pattern at top and bottom of legwarms. • As you work the legging, you can carry the non-working yarn up the rows by twisting it loosely with the working yarn at the beginning of each round. This eliminates the need to weave in ends of yarns that are created when you cut yarn to change colors.
