SUMMER CAMP AIDE TEAM LEADER INTERNSHIP Organization: Blandford Nature Center is a community-based 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization working to invigorate relationships with nature that lead individuals to transform their community and create a healthy, sustainable world. Our mission is to educate, engage, and empower our community to become stewards of the natural world that sustains us. Job Title: Summer Camp Aide Team Leader Intern Supervisor: Jennifer Brown, Education Director Job Summary: Mentor teen camp aides and assist in camper supervision to ensure a positive and safe camp environment. Responsibilities include: ➢ Ensuring camper safety and supervision during transition times ➢ Serving as camp aide team leader ➢ Leading camp aides in transition time activities ➢ Supervising camp aide responsibilities ➢ Creating atmosphere of positive outdoor role models ➢ Attending mandatory Camp Aide Orientation Session: May 15, 5:30 - 7:30 pm Qualifications/Skills: ➢ Successful completion of two years of coursework in the fields of education, outdoor recreation, or environmental studies (or equivalent training) ➢ Current CPR / First Aid certification by Camp start date ➢ Ability to work successfully in a team environment with youth and adults ➢ Ability to communicate with wide range of ages and developmental levels ➢ Passion for connecting community to natural environment Time Commitment: 32-40 hrs/wk. 8:45am-4:15pm, M-F Internship Length: 10+ weeks, mid-June-August, 320 - 440 potential total hours Benefits: Build experience in leadership, teaching and non-profit organization; working outdoors, possible education credit.
