Marion Mix Elementary Parents and Guardians, I want to thank you all for participating in voting for our school’s Dress Policy for the students of Marion Mix Elementary. Our goal is promote a school culture that encourages students to look tidy, organized, and ready to learn. Students need clothing that fits appropriately so they are comfortable, focused, and do not distract the learning of others. By an overwhelming majority (74% to 26%), our families voted on Partial and/or Full Uniform Option choice as described below. This essentially means that students will wear one of three uniform color TOPS and have a choice for jeans, khaki, or dark colored BOTTOMS. Items listed below are examples of what a student may wear within our Dress Policy. Additionally, we will offer Spirit Wear to be worn on designated days and Polos with our school mascot/logo. You will be notified once these will be made available. Our hope is most will be able to take advantage of the online pricing that Walmart and/or Old Navy provides for Royal Blue and Kelly Green. We will order some items in various sizes and make those available in the office so parents can see the products in person before purchasing online. Partial/Full Uniform Choice TOP: Polo Shirt in School Colors (royal blue, kelly green, or white) BOTTOM: Dark Pants/Shorts/Skirts/Dresses (denim jeans, dark blue/khaki, all acceptable) *All shorts, skirts, and dresses must be fingertip length or longer.
