BRONX RIVER ALLIANCE JOB OPENING: MANAGER OF INDIVIDUAL AND CORPORATE GIVING The Bronx River Alliance seeks a Manager of Individual and Corporate Giving to develop and implement strategies to encourage and reward individual giving and raise funds from corporate sources for Bronx River programs and activities. Major Responsibilities Coordinate two annual fundraisers: our gala, An Upstream Soiree, and a paddling event. Solicit sponsors (individual, corporate and nonprofit) for them. Develop and implement strategies to increase individual giving at all levels: − Create an annual calendar for donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. − Oversee the Alliance membership program: implement direct mailings for prospects and renewals. Thank and recognize donors. Provide donor benefits. − Identify prospective individual donors at all levels, especially for major gifts. Plan and implement donor cultivation efforts for major donors. − Support the Executive Director and Board in soliciting and cultivate major donors. Manage the individual and corporate donor database. Develop and implement strategies to encourage and maintain corporate support. − Identify prospective corporate donors and sponsors. − Identify and track corporate grant opportunities: Work with Development Team to develop grant proposals, reports and maintain grant files. − Foster, manage and support relationships with corporate sponsors and donors. Other communications: ensure that case materials are up-to-date. Maximize the fundraising potential from existing donor communication vehicles and strategize about how best to use social media for fundraising. Maintain fundraising section of the website and board list. Perform any other agency-related duties or special projects as directed by supervisor. Qualifications. A successful candidate will have: 2 years of relevant experience in fundraising or in business/sales or educational or work experience in event planning, donor cultivation, and direct mail techniques. An outgoing personality with excellent communications skills, including the ability to communicate and work with diverse constituents, including funders, program staff and board members. Database management experience required. Strong attention to detail. Self-starting, creative thinker, with the ability to work quickly under pressure and meet deadlines. Computer literate and Microsoft Office proficient. Experience with social media preferred.
