Complete your FAFSA as soon as possible!
Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov for information. Need help completing
the FAFSA? If so, attend the FAFSA Frenzy on Feb 22th 2-4pm
at MCC Blue River.

All male students must register w/ Selective Service.
If you are planning to attend the Metropolitan Community College:
1)
Don’t forget to request a transcript be sent to MCC for any
dual credit classes you have taken while at BSHS.
2) Request a copy of your final high school transcript be sent
to MCC.
3) Read the MCC A+ Student Enrollment Checklist carefully!
If your ATTENDANCE is below 95% on the
attached report, see Mrs. Carpenter ASAP!

*Spring Senior Visit Day @MCC Blue River is tentatively Feb 16th,
hourly 10-2.
All students must attend ONE training before beginning to tutor for A+
hours. Hours completed before
attending the training will not count.

Did you know?
There are many 4-year colleges/universities in the state
of Missouri that offer scholarships to students successfully completing the A+ Program! This year some of
the schools offering A+ scholarships include: Central
Methodist University, Drury University, Missouri
Southern State University, Northwest Missouri State,
Missouri Western, Missouri Valley, Park University,
Webster University, Stephens College, Truman State,
and more!

Summer School Tutoring
Summer school dates are still to be
determined and based upon state budget approval.
Sign ups for summer school tutoring will begin
in April. Students must sign up in the A+ office.
Tutoring assignments are on a first come, first
served basis. There are a limited number of
tutoring spots at each location.
Note: An additional training is required to
participate in summer school tutoring.

A+ Checklist
1)
Have you attended a Tutor Training Session?
This is REQUIRED BEFORE any tutoring/mentoring can take place and count towards the A+ Program.
2)
Ready to start tutoring/mentoring?
Before tutoring, you need to come by and see Mrs. Carpenter to get a SIGNED tutor log. You MUST log your hours
on the A+ tutor log.
3)
Have you tutored/mentored and not yet turned in your hours?
Stop by the A+ Office and turn in those hours! If you are a senior, your hours are due on May 1, 2015. If you
need a new tutoring log, stop by the A+ office.
4)
Are you maintaining the other A+ requirements?
2. 5 cumulative, unweighted GPA
95% attendance
Good citizenship
No drug/alcohol use
A score of proficient or advanced on Alg 1 EOC or higher level DESE approved EOC in the field
Of Mathematics.
* If you meet all of the eligibility requirements except the EOC requirement, you may establish eligi-
bility by achieving a qualifying score on the COMPASS exam or the mathematics component of the ACT test.
The MDHE will announce the qualifying COMPASS and ACT scores annually.
