Teachers, Please take this time to make certain your 3rd period attendance is being taken within the first ten minutes of the period. Students—here are your morning announcements. AFTER SCHOOL LEARNING LAB: The progress report #7 ends this Friday, April 10th. C4 is open every Tuesday & Wednesday for extra help and assistance. A late bus will be available for students working in this lab. You must have a bus pass from C4 in order to catch the late bus. After 3:00 you will need a pass to get into C4. SEMESTER EXEMPTIONS: If you are working towards exemptions, remember that you can’t have more than 4 absences and 3 tardies equals one absence. Our volume of 7:30 morning tardy arrivals is too high. Leave early, plan for traffic and arrive before the 7:30 bell. SENIORS AND SCHOLARSHIPS: As you receive scholarships, please report them to Mrs. Jeffery so that we can include your name and award on the graduation program and senior award program. CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS: 1. Prom tickets will be sold Thursday, April 2nd during all lunches. Cash only!!! Prom is May 16th (8 p.m. – midnight) at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in the Galleria area. Tickets are $110. 2. If you are interested in service hour opportunities, I invite you to check out the opportunity with Fort Bend County Child Advocates. It is their CASA Gala which will be on May 2, 2015 from 6 pm until at the Marriott Sugar Land Hotel. They need students to help with setup the day of or that evening. This is great, BUT it looks like our competition is Elkins High School with 247 particpants. There are also still 621 people who signed up but are not attached to a specific campus. Dilly Letter Jackets will be on campus Tuesday & Wednesday, April 14th and 15th in the commons during all lunches to size for spring jackets. If you are interested in trying out for the school mascot, see Miss Vann in T1. Tryouts will be Wednesday, April 15th. Final Auditions for the Tri-M Music Honor Society’s annual benefit concert will be held Monday, April 6th in M4. See Ms. Vandiver or Mr. Kime if you have questions. To audition, you must be currently enrolled in band, choir, or orchestra. Student drivers are expected to follow all posted speed limits and drive responsibly and safely. Parking permits will be revoked if repeated warnings are issued. Arrival/Dismissal: To avoid traffic issues, car riders are encouraged to be at AHS by 7:00am. Parents are allowed to drop off their child in the front of the building or on the student parking lot side. Cars are not allowed in the bus loading area of the school before or after school. Students arriving in the front entrance after 7 a.m. must have a teacher pass. The tardy bell rings at 7:30 a.m. AHS school hours are 7:30am-2:30pm. Students can be picked up in the front circle or student parking lot at 2:30 p.m. Please follow the directed flow of traffic. Cafeteria: Cafeteria Payments can be made in the mornings in the cafeteria between 7-7:20 a.m. Payments can also be made online. http://fortbendisd.revtrak.net/tek9.asp Dress Code: Students are expected to follow the Fort Bend ISD guidelines for dress code. The Student handbook is available on the FBISD website. Males must be clean shaven with no sagging pants. Females must wear skirts, dresses, and shorts that are within 3 inches of the knee. Undergarments should not be visible. Students are required to carry their IDs at all times. Students will need IDs for textbooks, library usage, etc. Lockers: Students wishing to request a locker can do so on the AHS Access website. Forms are also available in the counseling office. Parking Permits/Transportation: Students will not be allowed to park on campus, unless they have a valid 2014-2015 parking permit. Juniors and seniors that are eligible for parking permits can stop by Office 107 to request a parking permit. Parking spots are limited and are on a first come, first serve basis. Bus route information for the school year has been updated on the FBISD web site. To access this information you can use the link below or go to forbendisd.com and click on the student parent information link on the right and then click on the Bus route locator link on the right. You will be able to enter your address and see where your bus stop is located, your bus number, and the anticipated pick up and drop off time. If students are tardy, teachers will escort them to the nearest tardy station and then escort them to class. Students must have their ID’s for tardy stations. Remember to use the back hallways to avoid heavy traffic in the halls. Textbooks: Faculty have classroom sets of textbooks.
