2015 ESSAY CONTEST ENERGY USE: Past, Present and Future CALL FOR ESSAYS, GRADES 4-12 Call for original essays reflecting energy use: past, present or future. The 2015 Essay Contest is aligned to STEM curriculum studying science. Problem solving, research, writing and communications skills are needed. Consider the broad impact of energy use throughout history and/or the future of other energy sources. Suggested topics are listed below (A-D), or you may select a different relevant topic of interest. A Consider, for example, how early global explorers used wind to power ships, or early pioneers used draft animals to ride and pull wagons and plows. B Visit our exhibit "Offshore Drilling: The Promise of Discovery" on display through Feb. 1, 2015. The exhibit provides information about the search for, discovery and processing of petroleum.
