difference in TOPS Scholarships and University based scholarships. Colleges may have specific scholarships applicable
to you. Also: Many scholarships require letters of recommendation from your teacher, counselor or principal. When
you request a letter of recommendation, please allow two weeks for this to be returned to you. Please also include a

Each month a $500.00 scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding senior boy and
senior girl who demonstrate exemplary standards. Students should be well-rounded
with leadership, citizenship, service, and scholarship qualities. Students will compete
against other high school students in Caddo-Bossier area. See Mrs. Anderson for an
application. Applications are accepted each month.

Scholarship
The Lt. General (Ret.) Edgar Starr Harris, Jr. Scholarship seeks applications from
students who aim to pursue a professional career in the United States military.
Applications are being accepted for the 2015-16 school year. Preference will be
given to students interested in a career with the U.S. Air Force and to dependents of
Air Force members currently serving or who have served at Barksdale Air Force
Base. Recipients must attend colleges or universities whose scholarship award terms
do not conflict with those of The Community Foundation. Requirements:1)Resume,

SCHOLARSHIP
The Carrie B. Lemon Adger Scholarship is being offered to youth in/or aging out of
foster care and children who have been adopted-formerly in foster care in the
Shreveport Region who wish to further their education beyond high school-including
College, University studies, Vocational and Job training and Correspondence courses.
Students must submit an essay on “Furthering my Education”. Applications are
available in the Counseling Department.
LULAC Council will award scholarships to qualified Hispanic students who are
enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college or university in the US.
Requirements: 1) Applicants must be a US citizen 2) Must have applied to enroll as a
full time student in college/university or vocational school 3) Student must not be
related to a scholarship committee member, Council President or and individual
contributor to the local funds of the Council. Application available in the Counseling
Dept. or visit the website at www.lnesc.org .
The Grambling University National Alumni Association, Inc. (GUNAA), Shreveport
Alumni Chapter, is pleased to offer scholarships to Caddo Parish high school students
interested in attending Grambling State University beginning in the fall semester
2015-2015 year. Payable over a two year period, the scholarships vary in range from
up to the coveted Eddie Robinson Scholarship. Applications are available in the
Counseling Department.
To qualify for the Balanced Man Scholarship, you must submit an application by
April 7th and enroll, full-time at Louisiana State University for the Fall 2015 term.
Applicants have no obligation to join or affiliate with SigEp to be eligible for the
scholarship. You can apply online at: http://lsusigep.com under the Balanced Man

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must be currently enrolled or accepted in a bachelor and/or associate
degree seeking program in order to pursue a career in the restaurant, foodservice,
tourism, or hospitality industry. Courses of study can include but are not limited to
culinary, hospitality & tourism, business or management programs. Funds cannot go
to certificate programs. Applicants chosen as scholarship recipients must be classified
as full-time students in order for any funds to be disbursed to the educational
institution. (Full-time: enrolled in at least 12 hours or the equivalent.) Applications

Theatrical Scholarship
Angels of Faith Theatrical Productions is looking for high school seniors to apply for
a Theatrical Scholarship in the amount of $300.00. Students also have an opportunity
to win an additional $300.00 by entering their Amateur Acting contest. This contest
is not just open to seniors, but other students as well. There will be two age groups,
7-17 and 18 and up. Individuals in the age category of 7-17 will compete for
$150.00. Individuals in the age category of 18 and older will compete for $300.00.

Residential Engineering Camp: Open to rising 9th 10th and 11th grade female students
who have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The College will give preference to those students
with a GPA of 3.0 or above. Cost $400.00 (Inclusive of room and board. There is an
additional non-refundable $25.00 application fee.) A limited number of scholarships
are available to qualified students. Dates: July 12- 18, 2015. Check

The Shreveport based chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (Lou-Ark
Section) offers four separate $2000 scholarships each year to students registering at
an accredited university and enrolling in a curriculum leading to a degree in
Petroleum Engineering, or other related field.

Counseling Department. The deadline for applications is May 29, 2014.

To qualify for the College Peas Standout Student Scholarship you must be a current
high school student and: Be a current high school student that Intends to enroll fulltime at a four-year college. Have a minimum GPA of 2.0/4.0. Submit a short essay
describing a special skill, talent or interest that helps you stand out from your peers.
The essay should be no longer than 100 words. Scholarship amount: $400 + a free

The State Library of Louisiana offers FREE online tutoring to grades K - 12
Louisiana residents. Funding is through a Broadband USA grant through the
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. One-on-one help from a live, qualified

The FAFSA MARATHON is an event that will allow high school seniors and/or
