2015 Spring - Summer Schedule Instructor: Julie Cancilla * All classes are in the evening from 7pm to 9pm unless otherwise noted. * A supply list is provided for the “Basic”, “Intermediate” and “Advanced” classes. Students may bring their own supplies or purchase them at a 10 % discount. * * Basic, Intermediate and Advanced sessions consist of (4) two hour evening classes. * Students complete all 4 classes for each series. * Supplies are furnished for all “other” classes. (Not “Basic”, “Intermediate” or “Advanced”) * No refunds on cancelled sessions, unless we cancel the session. If you have to cancel, you may apply the fee to another series or class. * All items you make in class are yours to take home. Basic Cake Decorating Cost: $38.00 per series, plus supplies * You will receive instruction on all types of frosting, fillings, and use of necessary tools. Learn to decorate cakes for all occasions. Split, fill, frost, create borders, flowers and practice writing. Discover how creative you can be with frosting and a pastry bag. In this class you will learn fondant flowers and color flow. Series 1: April 28, 30, May 5, 7 Advanced Cake Decorating Cost: $50.00 per series, plus supplies * Students will work with fondant. Learn to color, roll out and cover your cake, then make flowers to decorate. You will learn the basics of tier cakes. Final will be a Wedding Cake covered and decorated in fondant. Series 1: Candy Class May 19, 21, 26, 28 February 9th Cost is $65.00 Who's your favorite Valentine? Impress them by learning to make some delicious Truffles, Homemade Caramel, and Cherry Cordials. PAGE 1 2015 Spring-Summer Schedule Love at First Bite Cookies February 11th Cost is $55.00 Watch everyone’s heart melt after the first bite of the famous French Macaroons! This class will teach you how to make these famous cookies along with some secret tips. A variety of flavors will be used as fillers such as fresh raspberry filling, a yummy chocolate Ganache or a lemon Kist! We will have fun shaping these sandwich cookies into heart shapes. Take them home and share with your special Valentine! Cinnamon Rolls March 3rd Cost: $65.00 March 5th Cost: $70.00 Cake Pops March 10th Cost $60.00 Sugar Eggs March 11th. Cost: $35.00 One of our most popular classes. Your family will never forget waking up to the aroma of cinnamon, butter and sugar permeating through the house from these sweet rolls. Join us in class to learn how to make these delectable rolls. We will teach you the basic techniques and how to roll them out. We will make our regular “Julie Delicious”Cinnamon Rolls. Then, we will try something new! How does a“Maple Bacon” flavor and an“Orange Fruito” flavor, sound? (We tried them and, they are delicious!) Basic Fondant Students receive a 7” layer cake to fill, and frost with buttercream. Then, you will learn to roll out and color your fondant, put it on your cake, and decorate with more fondant. Make up basic Cake Pops in class. Then, decorate as Mickey & Minnie and some fun Easter shapes. Remember making sugar eggs and putting a scene inside? We will be making a medium size egg for you to decorate with Royal icing and some Easter items. If you have a photo of kids or grandkids you can make a personalized egg for someone. I still have one I made when my two children were 3 and 5. To this day, I still enjoy looking at it. Gluten Free March 12th Cost: $60.00 There are a lot of people needing Gluten Free desserts. These will be a few items you can add to your dessert recipe file for those special friends. Good tasting Gluten Free recipes sometimes are hard to find. We will make some Blueberry Muffins, Chewy Sugar Cookies and a Chocolate Chip cookie for you to taste and take home. Spring Cookies March 18th Cost: $60.00 How about those cookies that are way too pretty to eat, well we will have sugar cookies made and waiting for you to decorate. You will learn the art of Color Flow to make these beautiful Spring themed cookies. Each student will leave with 8 to 10 cookies.. PAGE 2 2015 Naked Cakes Spring-Summer Schedule March 19th Cost $60.00 Try the newest fad in cakes. Julie will bake 3 layers for each student to work on using the new Nordic Ware pan. You will have Chocolate or White cake and fill with a homemade Chocolate Mousse, Cream Cheese, or Buttercream. No frosting needed on the sides. Just top it off with some buttercream. Take home a 3 layer cake to share. Easter Candy March 24th Cost: $65.00 Start out making homemade Rocky Road, fudge, caramel and marshmallow. We will mold the eggs in class and then fill them with either Rocky Road, fudge, or caramel and marshmallow. We will decorate the eggs and box them up for you to take home. Fondant Bunny and Flowers March 26th Cost: $65.00 Baking From Scratch March 31st Cost: $65.00 Bread Class April 2nd Cost: $60.00 Make an Easter Centerpiece that people will be talking about and admiring on Easter. We will make a cute Bunny from fondant then make Roses, Daisies, and Apple Blossoms to surround our cute little bunny. Tired of those box mixes in the stores for your cakes? Then you need this class! Join us for a fun filled evening and learn how to make Red Velvet cake with Cream Cheese Icing, Devil’s Food cake with Chocolate Fudge icing, and an Apple cake with Butterscotch icing. Your friends will think you spent hours on these beautiful cakes. Makes me hungry just typing it. If you love bread, then this is the class for you! Learn to make those Flaky Biscuits, Ultimate Dinner Rolls and Homemade Crescent Rolls. This will be a great addition to your Easter Dinner. Ice Cream Desserts April 22nd. Cost: $65.00 April 29th Cost: $70.00 Summer is around the corner. Are you having party? Learn to make cool desserts to serve at your next party or maybe just on a hot summer night. We will have the Best Ever Chocolate Chip cookies baked and ready for you to fill with ice cream for a delicious Ice Cream Sandwich. A sponge cake will be also be waiting for you to fill with ice cream and roll into an Ice Cream Dessert Roll. We will have the baked items ready for you to use. (Because, baking and ice cream just don’t do well at the same time!) Isomalt Flowers These Isomalt flowers will look like blown glass decorations. Make beautiful flowers and leaves in class to take home and use on cakes for Mother’s Day or other special occasion cakes. PAGE 3 2015 Spring-Summer Schedule Chocolate Clay May 6th Cupcake Baking and Decorating June 9th Cost: $70.00 You will have two 4x6 inch cakes to work on. Fill and frost your cakes then learn to make Chocolate Clay to cover your cakes. Make a book cake or another fancy cake for Mother’s Day. ** When you sign up for this class let us know if you want Chocolate or White cake to work on. Cost: $65.00 Are you bored of Chocolate and Vanilla cupcakes? Surprise everyone at your next party! We will be doing some scratch baking and also using our mixes. Make Black Bottom cupcakes from scratch, and also Graham Cracker with Peanut Butter frosting. We will fill and decorate cupcakes made from our mixes. PAGE 3
