The Calgary Homeless Foundation (CHF) has an affordable housing portfolio of over 360 units to ensure homeless individuals and families have access to housing with the appropriate supports so they can address the issues that led to their homelessness. Each property is operated by an agency partner that provides services and supports to each individual. More housing is needed. Provincial government and home builders fund 240 units for Calgary’s homeless CHF will construct eight 30-unit apartment buildings. These construction projects are funded with over $27 million in grants from Municipal Affairs in the Government of Alberta and a unique partnership whereby 11 Calgary home builders are contributing up to $1.4 million each for a total of $15.4 million as part of the RESOLVE capital campaign.
