Thank you for applying to compete in the 2015

Thank you for applying to compete in the 2015 Scotiabank Calgary
Marathon Race Weekend, including the Centaur Subaru 21.1K
National Championships and the 50K Ultra Road Race
Championships. Below is some important elite information to help
make your race weekend smooth and memorable.
Qualifying Times
Assistance is based on from where runners are traveling and will
cover accommodation, either at a hotel or at a host family, and
where applicable, some travel costs. The elite coordinator will
contact runners with details on assistance once you have confirmed
your attendance. Travel assistance is only paid upon participation
in the race.
What is the host family program?
We have vetted 20 Calgary families who are part of the running
community and who are opening their homes to 1 or more athletes
on race weekend. All families have a private bedroom for each
athlete they are willing to host. They are sensitive to dietary
restrictions and are happy to accommodate any requests. Your host
family, should you choose to stay with one, will pick you up and
drop you off at airport (if required), bring you to the VIP event,
elite briefing and race, take care of your meals, and ensure you get
any runs/workouts in during your stay. The home stay coordinator,
Lindsey Snyder, will contact you within 12 hours of your arrival to
ensure your wellbeing and if the home you are in is not meeting
your needs we will find you an alternative.
If you’re staying in a hotel, you may have shared accommodation
with another elite of the same gender. A shuttle will bring you to
the elite briefing and to the race. The hotel is within walking
distance of the VIP event on Friday night, if you would like to
attend. There will be an elite hospitality suite at The Westin with
details available upon check-in.
So you qualify – now what?
The elite coordinator will contact runners and provide an elite code
to register for the race and with details on assistance once you have
confirmed your attendance. There is limited budget so the earlier
applications are given first consideration.
