Due March 19th– This entire packet along with essay and poster
We have been learning about writing opinion essays and supporting our opinions with
evidence and facts. This month I am asking each student to choose a topic from below to
make their opinion known!!! To keep organized, make a check in the box as you complete
each step!
Select a topic and an opinion
Complete OREO graphic organizer

Edit with an adult (leaving marks on the draft)
-fix issues with spelling and ensure it makes sense

Students will also create a poster advertisement like a public service announcement. The
poster will use words, pictures and other materials to show what they think. This will be used as
they present their ideas and essay to the class.
Choose a topic below and circle one of the bolded options to choose your opinion. Decide who your audience is. Are you trying to persuade a kid, adult, teacher, mayor, store owner? (If you have another idea
you’d really like to explore check with me for approval.)
